Classically representative of festival cinema. Everything is very gray, wet, uncomfortable, no bright colors, although there are children in the film, but their lives are shown without joy. At least the actors, the conversations are simple, although jokes skip in the communication of the father with children. He loves them very much, but his mother, apparently, wanted to try sex with a more intellectual partner, since Devin looks like a member of an underground sludge metal band, works with his hands on uncomplicated booths. And anyway, mom got a promotion, so it's time to renew her partner. Preferably faster and in front of everyone. You believe everything that happens on the screen thanks to acting.
In general, if you are used to, for example, an expensive American TV series of recent years, the feeling of the film can remind you of the situation when you instead of a comfortable hoodie from Abercrombie & Fitch put on an old, prickly old sweater. You can look, you can't look. But America in this film is quite unusual to the eye. If in the same “Nomads” there were some warm, sunny moments with the same empty roads and endless “steppes”, then in “Murder” everything is completely joyless.
