About fairies and dragons for the smallest There are clearly "girl" films in the movie rental... "Fairies: The Mystery of Dragon Land" belongs to this category, with the clarification: not for girls, but for little girls, preferably preschool age.
Why?
Well, let’s look at the pros and cons of this creation.
+) A vivid picture. Yes, the graphics are not at the level of “Pixar”, the backs are sometimes quite schematic, and the animation of the characters looks angular ... but what colors! What a combination! Everything from dragons to the flora of the magical country literally sparkles and sparkles, while the dark and gloomy frames in the cartoon are disparagingly few.
+) Dragons. Yes, I am a bit of a dragonophile, so the very presence in the cartoon of beautiful, elegant lizards with an unusual design (rainbow dragons with feather-webbed wings ... well, it looks original!) and charming faces conquered me. 3 Although the pig was planted here by those who localized the title of the cartoon: although “dragon country” implies that there will be many dragons, in fact ten percent of the timekeeping is devoted to them. The rest of the time we'll be looking at, at best, the dragon egg. It's not a fact.
+) It's very kind. Limitation “6+”, perhaps even too much: “Fey” can be safely watched with the smallest spectators, because everything here is calm, without excess, tells about the value of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance. Villains are not particularly villainous, rather, harmful, and the main characters, of course, will defeat their enemies and return to the country of fairies former prosperity. Well, as is the case in fairy tales.
- The movie is only for little girls. While Pixar or Dreamworks usually don’t have such a gender-strict focus — say, “How to Train Your Dragon” or “Monsters Corporation” is enjoyed by both boys and girls — Fairies are likely to appeal only to girls. And not anything: even junior high school girls are likely to get bored in this picture - here you have a primitive plot, and flat characters, and a rather crumpled narrative ... - but preschool girls, maybe, will sit down, carried away by bright colors, cute animals (one wolf is worth it!) and bosom girlfriends-fairies.
- Voice acting isn't always good. Alas, but in some places, the actors of dubbing clearly did not last with emotionality, especially for a children's cartoon. Given the slightly “wooden” animation, because of this, the characters sometimes resemble zombies. . .
Bottom line: a good choice for a family where there are small spectators, but frankly boring for older people. I looked to the end myself, but I definitely don’t want to review it. Even for dragons. They're cute, though. . .
