Of course, sitting down to watch this film, I did not expect to see something supernatural, knocked out of the overall plan, but...
Compared to the vampire movies I’ve seen, this one is pretty good. You can see immediately that Netflix tried and worked on the visual part of the film.
The film is filled with all the sensations of a night crime city: bandits, weapons, night lights, neon.
Let's take a look at the cast.
Debbie Ryan, Jorge Landeborg Jr., Lucy Fry pretty well beat vampires who keep the whole city at bay.
Lucy Fry-Zoe came out quite, so to speak, bitchy lady.
Abby Ryan - Blair played, in my opinion so good, Blair turned out to be quite a shy girl, compared to the rest, who made even me look at her, who in every possible way saved Benny - the main character, about him further. . .
Benny - Jorge Landeborg Jr., also played a shy guy like Blair. I don't know how to think about this moment, whether he was lucky that night to go instead of his brother to work as a driver or not. I think it’s a pretty good job too.
And of course, how is the film without Victor the main villain, the antagonist who captures the city.
In my opinion, the film was a success, I would even watch the next part, as the ending subtly hints that the adventures of Blair, Benny and the rest of the vampires are not over.
Whether you watch the movie or not is up to you.

The theme of vampires in the movies is not very popular. It is possible that this is due to a certain “exhaustion” of stocks of ideas and a deadlock: all about bloodsuckers removed. Well, more recently released the movie “Day shift” – also from Netflix, also about vampires.
There were vampire neighbors like in Fear Night, and mutant vampires like in Blade, and packs of vampires like in 30 Days of Night and the coming of Dracula. In general, everything is a dead end.
And not to say that "Fangs of the Night" something new and original offer the viewer. The film also features modern "Van Helsingi," bloodsuckers still afraid of sunlight.
But the project of Adam Randall on the script of Brent Dillon is ready to offer the viewer something special. Shakespearean! And for that, I am ready to give the film a green rating.
Benny (Jorge Landeborg Jr.) replaces his half-brother Jay (Raul Castillo), acting as a night driver. He receives an order from two beauties - Blair (Debbie Ryan) and Zoe (Lucy Fry), who need to be taken to several addresses and need to do it before dawn. And of course, as soon as the girls get in the car to Benny, everything interesting begins!
The picture only partially touches on the theme of the long-standing confrontation between vampire and human clans. Once the parties made peace, but the shaky balance was broken and the night during which events develop becomes decisive for both parties.
The very confrontation between man and vampire in "Fangs of the Night" is shown in passing. Despite the fact that both hunters and vampires are here, it is still not worth waiting for a bright massacre from these guys, as well as a large amount of blood shed. Here you can just remember “Day shift” with Jamie Foxx – here in this picture the action at least plenty! And the viewers will also see a lot of corpses.
This “fangs of the night”, to be honest, surprises. After all, you turn on the movie and expect exactly such a development. But here the emphasis is on something else.
The central theme is the relationship between Benny and Blair, who personally introduced himself to me as Romeo and Juliet. Only here, instead of the Montague and Capulet clans, there are clans of humans and vampires. And Benny and Blair, given the certain spark between them, are presented as the main characters of the immortal play of William Shakespeare.
They are close, are close to each other (literally - in the cabin of the same car), but they can not be with each other for certain reasons. Well, you know what it is. And those parties, the clans to which they belong, clearly will not allow them to be together.
Of course, in "Fangs of the Night," the Shakespearean theme is not so clearly presented that the viewer will snap his fingers and say, "Exactly!" I've seen it before! Again, I repeat: in my view, the plot of Randall’s painting refers to Shakespeare.
Jorge Landeborg and Debbie Ryan have entered their images well and, to be honest, I fell in love with the heroine Ryan – Blair myself. The screen image of the actress turned out to be very cute, shy and therefore especially attractive. Lucy Fry, again considering her appearance as Zoe, found herself in her place: bitchy, tough, sophisticated. . .
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Luxury villas, expensive cars, an attractive blex and a dangerous dope of a night city... owned by five criminal gangs. Secret power, undercover intrigue, bloody parties. Not all owners of the city are people, half have sharp teeth. As long as the parties followed the rules, everything was fine: the strong got stronger, the weak went for food. But everything changed when one of the parties decided to shake the balance of power, starting a war in which the fangs of the night plunge into the neck of his brother, because in the struggle for domination all means are good.
An approximate bunny is a chauffeur surrounded by two dangerous persons who, like a fox and a snake, grabbed their prey and do not let go. This combination is played perfectly, the whole film the viewer watches their play. There is no sex in the film, but the film is still full of sex - this is how pheromones work, the invisible attraction between actress Debbie Ryan and actor Jorge Landeborg. At least I thought so. The boss of the girls plays Alfie Allen - a good choice, because we remember him as a mobster in John Wick. It's a good role for him. There is also Alexander Ludwig (who watched the series “Vikings”, remembers the eldest son Ragnar) and even Megan Fox played a cameo role.
Now for the minuses. Mafia fights involving both humans and vampires don’t look natural. Almost completely there is no sense of danger, no urgency of the moment, no sense of anxiety, no worries about the fate of the main characters. Mafia bosses don’t seem dangerous. As a comparison, we can cite the film with Takeshi Kitano “Lawlessness” – how the mafia is beaten, its power, and how it is here. There are no vampires, you say? Well, let's compare it to the movie "Queen of the Damned."
In conclusion. The film is absolutely not tense, looks relaxed, but absolutely devoid of realism, even compared to another, similar film “Taste of the Night”.

Vampires are a stronghold of conservatism and traditional values.
The movie is really good. Grades are generally understated by half a point. But this low-budget project ' Netflix' with product placement ' large and fast gangsta cars' head above the same ' Army of the Dead'.
The project is not ' Tarantinovshchina' or 'nyash-meat' about glamorous vampires. So there is a chance that the mass audience will not come.
A rather complex dramatic plot with many moves (the basis is the drama of the growing up of the main character, the formation of a man), as a result, there are scenario inconsistencies. The author had a very good swing, but cornily lacked the technique of execution, and maybe finances. Which is also expressed in 'provisach' actions in the course of the picture. You can get tired in 40 minutes. The drive is over. Insanity and thrashing, if you bring them, should come out on the increase. Black humor is very little, but this is an inevitable attribute of the genre!
Quite a good selection of actors from secondary ' veteran' to ' game thrones' It is a pity that the images of the first are not disclosed, but the second came out quite colorful, although not without clichés.
In general, the actresses played qualitatively, they very successfully approach their images and have long worked with vampire themes. The main character is somewhat underrated. The actor replayed 'young'.
First of all 'Fangs of the Night' is a drama, then a crime and finally an action movie. There's no such thing as horror. What is interesting is that there is no particular newfangled ' hypertolerance' and imposed gender perversion, which is typical nowadays for 'Netflix', and all of Hollywood. And this is a rarity for modern genre cinema. Although there are some hints and BLM subtexts.
Cinema, of course, trying to swim out on sex work, the image of a glamorous vampire with a pseudo-lesbian bias. But this approach is more canonical than due to new-fangled trends.
In general, the film is estimated at a good 6.5 on film search. And much higher than many multi-budget models. And you will have to pass the time until something more colorful and large-scale appears.
Vampires have always been of interest to the public for their vast and profound mythology, which goes back centuries and is as old as our civilized human society is. Mentions of ghouls can be seen in the annals of various countries of the world, and almost everywhere it was said that they are immortal, drink blood and fear only the light that can easily turn them into ashes. But if in ancient legends vampires were presented mainly as monsters, which can be easily calculated at the first meeting with them, then already in the Victorian era, marked by general cultural enlightenment and the first steps of the scientific and technological revolution, the image of nightmare bloodsuckers has undergone significant changes and has become much more romanticized. Of course, it is worth thanking the eminent British writer Bram Stoker, who presented Count Dracula, albeit a frightening, but at the same time tragic character, driven by both a sense of endless thirst and a hot love passion. And since then, the image of vampires in world folklore began to change dramatically, showing formidable monsters are not as repulsive monsters as they were before. Stoker’s many followers radically transformed the mythology of vampires, making them both sophisticated aristocrats, a strong civilized society divided into castes, and even funny hooligans who get into gangs in order to have fun and drink blood in dark corners without borders. Stories about vampires have become much more intricate and dramatic, they can find both complex semantic reasoning and love lyrics. At the same time, cruelty and the desire to kill have not disappeared from them, from which bloodsuckers continue to be of interest to both female and male audiences and the most important thing is that the authors continue the artistic evolution of vampire themes, thanks to which bold works continue to appear on book shelves and on screens, expanding genre canons and demonstrating the further evolution of images, gathering new and new fans under their banners. Were not averse to say their word in a given area and the authors of the film “Fangs of the night”, which appeared on the screens with the support of Netflix.
Directly the plot of this vampire story takes place in Los Angeles, a huge city where not only people but also vampires found their place. Arriving here a long time ago, the arrogant bloodsuckers understood that for their own good they needed to follow the rules and once again not show the human community their true essence. Thanks to such a reasonable, balanced approach, vampires and humans were able to coexist with each other without unnecessary trouble, but sooner or later the brutal nature of bloodsuckers can get out, and then it is likely that Los Angeles will be swept by a war, the consequences of which will be completely unpredictable. And gradually the situation is coming to a point where it will be impossible to hide the vampire presence in the city, but while the delicate balance of power can still be maintained, there is hope that Los Angeles will still avoid a global massacre. Most people do not even know how dangerous the game is right here and now near them, and one of these ignorant is also a musician named Benny (Jorge Landeborg Jr.), who is important to earn a couple of extra dollars in all available ways, because his work is still more amateur than commercial. Having been called in to replace his brother and work as a taxi driver for one night, Benny accepts the challenge of two charming beauties, Zoe (Lucy Fry) and Blair (Debbie Ryan), who demand to take them to several nightclubs. It seems that there is nothing unusual in this request, but over time Benny begins to see that his passengers are not as simple and predictable as it may seem. They have something wrong with them, and in the end they are real vampires who are going to put into action some bloody plan that could change the balance of power in all of Los Angeles. And since it is not possible to just run away from Benny, he has to continue his night trip with the girls, and even have an unexpected and vivid relationship with one of them. But even at the same time, the hero should not forget who he is dealing with, because despite all his civilization, vampires continue to be monsters whose logic is based only on an insatiable thirst for blood.
By all accounts, the authors of “Fangs of the Night” were guided in their work by Michael Mann’s cult thriller “Accomplice”, in which Tom Cruise played one of the best roles of his career. Traveling around the city using a taxi, the hero of Cruz visited one point after another, executed orders for murder and did not exchange for compromises with his driver, even though during this long night they became a kind of friends. And now, with the filing of director Adam Randall and screenwriter Brent Dillon, “Accomplice” has turned into a rather unexpected action horror, which essentially repeats Mann’s successful plot concept and at the same time focuses on vampire theme, which has its own extensive and detailed mythology. According to Randall and Dillon, the Vampires of Los Angeles follow a strict hierarchy, they have both their own leaders and outcasts who seek to prove to the fang society that it is too early to write them off. Of course, the filmmakers do not seek to go into detailed explanations of how the vampire world works, because viewers have already seen something similar in Blade, Another World and other films, but they still give us an understanding of how bloodsucking society is built, and why it is waiting for inexorable changes that can lead to a real revolution. But for now, what is important for us is how the girls will travel around the city and whether they will be able to lay the seeds of their ideas in the right places. Well, then in Los Angeles, anything can happen, and perhaps the audience will have to think of a continuation of the story.
Of course, we can not say that “Fangs of the Night” have some incomprehensible story and keep the viewer in constant tension. At its core, the film is quite simple and straightforward, it does not have any great intrigue, but the important thing is that it is interesting to follow the events taking place on the screen. Not least because the film is so beautifully shot, it literally savours L.A. at night, showing it in a different way than in normal daylight. Strengthen such impressions strong atmospheric soundtrack, which partly throws vampires their centuries-old history and shows bloodsuckers more modern and adapt to newfangled realities creatures. Finally, it was nice to see here, albeit in episodic but memorable roles of Megan Fox and Sidney Sweeney, which are an optional but memorable bonus for the audience.

“Everything new is the long forgotten old.” It is no secret that the world of cinema has long been working and exists on this principle. It makes no sense to invent something new. You can only take the individual elements of successful and worthy paintings and put them all together. This is exactly what the director of this film Adam Randall did.
The plot of this film develops around a young musician Benny, who decides to replace his brother and work as a driver for one day. He is assigned to deliver two attractive girls to two different parties. Not even knowing that his passengers are two vampires who decided to start a war.
We can safely say that in terms of history, we have Michael Mann’s “Accomplice.” But with two sexy vampires instead of Tom Cruise. Otherwise, everything is as ordinary and predictable as possible, and therefore it is not difficult to predict possible plot twists. The advantage of the script is a kind of love line between the main character and one of the vampires, which is served quite interestingly and without any pink snot. The disadvantage of the scenario is that having a potentially voluminous lore of the screen universe with the division of vampires into castes, governing their part of the city, the authors extremely scantly and very superficially reveal this topic on the screen.
The directorship of Adam Randall also made a somewhat ambiguous impression. On the one hand, the film is quite juicy, bright and colorful. Perfectly complementing all this with a clip style of shooting, a well-chosen Various Artists soundtrack and a very good electronic soundtrack of composers. On the other hand, in terms of storytelling, the film turned out to be absolutely sterile, and the film itself is shot in such a way that it cannot be unequivocally assigned to any of the genres and as a result, the resonance of genres strongly affects the overall impression of viewing the picture.
The lead actor Jorge Landeborg Jr. looks very convincing in the image of a cute and shy main character of the picture. Lucy Fry is all over herself in the form of a completely crazy vampire. Debbie Ryan still pleases with natural play and attractive appearance. Even Alfie Allen unexpectedly looks interesting and natural in the image of a vampire crime boss. The star of “Euphoria” Sidney Sweeney and Megan Fox alas noted the strength of 2-3 minutes of screen time and for these few minutes they do not demonstrate anything special. What can not be said about Alexander Ludwig, who managed to create a rather colorful and funny image, which in the end is too little.

Fangs of the Night is far from the best, but definitely not a bad vampire movie. The authors of this tape created a film with not bad direction, a colorful picture and excellent acting work. The scenario, despite the interest of the idea, looks rather superficial and not fully disclosed. However, it is definitely possible to see the picture once and perhaps even worth it.
Vampires and vampires? Cinema with a double bottom
From time immemorial, warriors of darkness have stood in the way of the warriors of light. And the fight started. Bloody. And ruthless. And no one wanted to give in. The great Hesser saw that the forces were equal, and if the bloodshed was not stopped, all would perish. A truce was concluded between the Forces of Light and the Forces of Darkness. Since then, neither good nor evil has been done without mutual consent. And so came the Day Watch, which was watching the Forces of Light. And, in turn, the Night Watch, watching the forces of darkness.
'Night Watch', 2004, dir. T. Bekmambetov
Vampires, vampires, vampires. Children of the night in the pranks of suctions, hickeys, quenching passions. Let me put you down, sweetie.
Is this a hooligan movie? Could it be ironic? Don't know. I don't know. In any case, the comedic notes are clearly heard. And there, as they say, let the viewer decide what to what. Probably closer. You want crime, please. You want vampires to amuse yourself - as many colors as you want. Movie, drama, thriller - everything in this test is mixed for muffin. The director decided to kill not even two birds with one stone, but all at once. It'll come up. In other words, for all categories of sufferers, their own, breaking a piece. Bon appetit. Let everyone tell you what it was. And argue from the heart ' for the truth '.
Night
Moving towards the end,
However,
But the money, too.
On these vague faces in the far corner,
How long have I been here?
Time
On the road. . .
Only dusk falls on the tired bustle of the bustle, they are here. Ladies of the night. Moths in the plumage of majestic mahaons. Who are they? Who are they? Yeah, like them? Nymphs. I mean, milphs. Combat coloring, mascara, lipstick, hairstyles - all right. You won't. Elite, what can I say? They're ordered to walk. Why would you want to kill your feet? Why would you want to hoof them? Not a face. Out of hand. Washed. Rouge. Figures are slim. They're usually paired. One is necessarily blonde, the other her complete antipode - brunette. Well, at worst, a red, fiery beast. Contrast - and appetite inflames, and in general - is useful for the cause. Iron horse of elite blood at their entrance. A fool in a shirt, a tie, a driver behind the wheel. Where to? Where do you want it? I'll deliver in no time. How many addresses are there per night? And you will. Not my business? Yes, of course.
He
He came to me,
When I got out of the bar
With a slight smile, he asked me to light up:
'What is your name, stranger?'
'Don Pedro Gometz'
Pedro Gomez, sorry -
We're not on the way. . .
The association awakens this movie. Far from the visual range invented for the inexperienced viewer. An accident? Cunning, naughty master of the film. Does he bring us to these thoughts with his idea? Or is it so... just ' inflated'? Who will answer? Who will tell me a naive? Attribution of cereal pleasures ' according to the full program '. Isn't it? Here even the role of a pimp with the treachery of plans in the development of the territory is given by a pointer path of movement 'company'. Us. Everyone. Or am I wrong? A'Day Watch' - aren't vigilant guardians of morality and moral values in dog hunting? They are. Lynx hounds. It remains only to catch, red-handed ' catch' and ' ask' marvelous wizards - what is it interesting for you, so-so, necessary for all of us, do not be ashamed? Aah?
Flour - flour is sharp
Boredom is that great mute.
The sea sang quietly - la-la, bolder,
How our lives are fleeting
From here to eternity.
So Pedro Gomez, sorry -
We're not on the way. . .
Could it be an erotic thriller? Camouflage. In disguise. Two passionate persons, money without a bill for labor, moist mouths left behind completely powerless, empty, drunk to the bottom, to the bottom of the body ... Well, how do you tell the author to express the idea in a decent frame of painting? They will break their knees with criticism. Well, it's nothing special. A movie like a movie. Youth, not leaning to the end, can safely be allowed. You can't see the seditious. . .
In short, a double-bottom movie. Oh, Los Angeles! Oh, Los Angeles!
Howl,
Andalusian dog,
Howl, sing, guitar, sing.
And backpack again behind my back,
I'm a road cowboy again.
It's now or never.
So Pedro Gomez, sorry -
We're not on the way. . .
Daytime, evening Los Angeles and advertising a couple of cars (what is there, on Netflix what not to advertise, even themselves)
Thank you Netflix for showing us a beautiful city.
I literally just started watching the movie, but I already slapped 9 points on his KP. From the first minute I was fascinated by the film. So far, it does not matter on the story, but the footage, the aesthetics of the shooting, the work of the director and the cameraman fascinated me, fascinates me:
* Beautiful
*Pleasant
*Musical
* Bright, but not too much
Some camera transitions are literally masterpieces even. Love for the city, knowledge of key places. The 12th minute of the film is not over. We’ll see what happens next.
_
Road Movie
I love the road. Love to travel without leaving a comfortable chair or without getting out of bed, lying down. Show me the beauty right now and you can count on 7 points.
The conversations and characters are also pleasant, youthful, matching the time and place. It's all right.
Okay. I got hooked, I got turned on. I'm ' I got it ' I've already smiled a few times with a slightly overflowing movie pleasure.
So far, the film vaguely resembles 'Accomplice' (2004) with Tom Cruise Jamie Foxx.
_
But there is something about recent events in the United States. On one of the lanes during the movement of the car you can distinguish a huge inscription 'BLACK LIVES MATTER' as if painted with colored crayons. There was also the insert 'ALL BLACK'.
_
If we take separately 'vampire theme', then Blade here reminds me a lot for some reason. But aesthetically, it's not bad either.
The cast is also remarkable. Even 'Theon Greyjoy' (' stinky') is here drawn. A lot of those who usually play remarkable, but still minor roles in rather iconic films, as if they all decided to get a vampire movie party at once. Cinema.
_
Eh. After 40 minutes, the film begins 'sank'. But yes, yes, we'll give him another chance for a cheerful movie start. Dubbing, by the way, is full and good, normal. And filmmakers are clearly delighted with graffiti of all kinds. Show them in all angles, under different colorful and darkened lights. It’s nice, but the main thing is not to go too far with it!
And I thought that good girls in real life are good at playing bad in the cinema and vice versa (before the opposite in this case, you need Zap'u'taya?). I like to leave mistakes, I perceive them as bayonets myself, so I know that they will call someone necessarily. I'm a hedgehog.
What makes me feel bad about this movie?
Paradoxically primitive scripts in good directorial hands can be candy, even if the actors are right. It all came together, not bad. Maybe it hurt me, it pricked my mind. After all, I was subconsciously not expecting anything from the movie that loomed on the Netflix homepage. But already in the automatically reproduced trailer something was, something touched, something hooked, something liked. Incomprehensible. I wanted to understand, and therefore I had to look to understand at least something for my beloved. And build it in parallel. This is, as a rascal would say, like ' let go of steam' lust. Only in this case is my writer’s lust, my passionate desire, which I fear in secret and openly.
