Girls and donkeys. Lyrical comedy is a genre quite peculiar and specific, in which physical action is absent as such. But the French and Belgian filmmakers went differently: they have a lyrical comedy in motion and with an animal. And they didn't fail...
The young teacher has a lover - the father of one of the students. After learning that the lover is going to take a donkey with her family and go on a trip along the Stevenson Trail (the author of Treasure Island also wrote “Journey with a Donkey”) in the Sevennes (mountains in France), the heroine also decides to make a trip with a donkey, so as not to be separated from her lover.
As can be seen from the plot - there are no main positive human heroes in it and therefore a donkey acts as a positive hero and at the same time a "mirror" of relations between people. Meetings of the main character during the journey through the mountains with a donkey also serve as an excellent background for the events taking place and a slight irony over the girl who is ready to create problems for everyone around (first of all - the lover) is present throughout the film.
In fact, it is a non-malignant light comedy that can keep the whole film in a good mood.
