excellent cheerful TV series, especially against the background of the turnover of the last 2-4 years!!! you definitely will not understand and will not guess who and why???))
A cheerful thriller with unexpected twists and shocking endings. After all the movies and TV shows about cyber blackmail and cyber bullying, it gets a little scary. I'm gonna go change my cloud password. . ) P.S. I didn’t understand the couple’s actions at the end. I don't know what they expected.
“Clickbait” is a new series produced by Natflix, which is very difficult not to scold for numerous logical inconsistencies. But at the same time, it is difficult not to praise him for the intrigue and criticism of modern society immersed in online communication.
'Clickbait' begins with the fact that the main character accidentally sees on the Internet a video on which her brother is recorded. The battered man is tied up and holding a sign saying he is an abuser and when this video gets five million views, he will be killed. . .
Of course, the girl does not believe her eyes. After all, last night she was having dinner with her brother, a family man, who has a loving wife and two teenage children. My brother has never been aggressive, and of course it's absolutely impossible to believe that this video is true and not someone's stupid joke. But it quickly becomes clear that the man really disappeared, no one knows where he is, and the video is rapidly gaining millions of views, turning into a news sensation.
The whole plot reminds the audience of the science fiction series Black Mirror, but telling not about the possible future, but about the everyday present.
However, unlike the creators of Black Mirror, the creators of Clickbait did not bother to be realistic and logical in reflecting how the World Wide Web works and which data is really difficult and which is easy to find and verify. In this series, viewers must accept the fact that detectives and numerous police officers do not know how to use Internet data. But they can be used by amateur teenagers. If you can accept such a more than strange arrangement of things, then you will be very interested to follow the events of the series Clickbait.
As in the acclaimed detective series Big Little Lies, in this project one of the central themes is marital relations. What lies behind the facade of successful relationships. Why do spouses cheat on each other and look for entertainment on the side? How the closest people can turn out to be perfect strangers with a secret dark life. . .
The series Clickbait has quite high ratings - 7.3 in IMDB and 7.0 in Kinopoisk. And that's not surprising. Although the series itself is based on rather large holes regarding the work of the police, following the events of Clickbait is quite fascinating. Each new series reveals to the audience a new, completely unexpected aspect, forcing to reconsider their assumptions about what exactly and why happened to the brother of the main character.
“Clickbait” is a rather interesting mini-series that will definitely make you think about how safe your own behavior on the Internet and what consequences it can have.
Okay. Where do I start? And let it be from a title that perfectly describes the meaning of the series. What is ClickBate?
In short, this is a title that catches the eye of the user and as if bribes him to click on this content and get acquainted with it expecting something high-quality / sensational / striking, etc. And of course, it is no secret that this content often does not justify itself.
Like me, who understands the meaning of the phrase, I decided to just click on the series, without getting acquainted not with the description, not with the genre, not with the actors, not with the reviews, and whatever happens.
At first, the series seemed quite innovative, drive and emotional. Thriller-detective story can not fail to catch. A socio-psychological environment is created, which is quite interesting to observe. The behavior of the characters of the series looks realistic in this situation. They want to believe and be interested in the investigation.
This is where the main problems of the series begin.
This series is clearly not going to lovers of a strong detective, because there are almost all classic detective moves ("killer butler"), but they are implemented extremely poorly, there is always a random genius capable of "hacking the pentagon" or "finding a needle in a haystack." A high-quality detective should create a situation in which the viewer himself is able to guess faster than the main characters, but not immediately and not easily, otherwise it will not be interesting. But the writers decided to give us banality and absurdity.
If this is not your first time watching detectives, you know that there are many options, and our brains are tuned to look for clues. But the writers decided not just to add leads, but to make them “Chekhov rifles”. When watching, I immediately noticed those or other moments, and was completely sure that they will play their own, even if at the time of the series it is absolutely irrelevant. This in itself is not a bad thing; rather, it leads us to a gradual disclosure. And so that this story did not end after a couple of episodes, the writers added plot twists in the style of “Shyamalan”. Each subsequent plot twist turns out to be an increasingly ugly theater of the absurd, after which you just want to turn off the series. But no, we are strong, we believe that everything will be interpreted and everything will fall into place, but no, the theater of the absurd continues and continues until the final credits.
This mini-series manages to repeat the mistake of many long-term series that were released for years and with each season their quality fell, only here it happens for 8 episodes.
If you look at the characters, there is a disclosure, but they are all flat. Each character was given a few traits, and a few stories from the past, and I could forgive the moment for a 1.5-hour movie with a dozen characters, but not a 7-hour movie. Because of what it is even difficult to assess the performance of actors, they of course cope with the task, especially to let down a tear, but the tasks they have little.
Total:
An interesting plot, seemingly a good plot even despite the pianos in the bushes, idiotic plot twists, weak heroes.
Because of what the message of the series, namely caution and security in the information field looks uncertain. And yes, here you will not guess who is guilty, but you will not be upset at all when the denouement happens.
Clickbait - there's clickbait, a good headline - but clearly questionable content inside.
I recommend watching only if you turn off the brain, or perhaps teenagers who will not be so picky about illogical moments, but may learn a good lesson from this story.
The age of digital innovation opens wide doors. A person learns everything faster. In ten or 11 years of schooling, a person learns what previously mankind collected bits of information for millennia. And you just get it, not really straining.
This film tried to include a lot of things. It kind of teaches the viewer a lot: digital security (do not trust anyone, keep data in private access), do not change and do not give a reason for treason (everyone around can suffer), fight for the truth to the end, trust a friend. And how much do you personally benefit from abundant data, abundant, even useful information? Do you learn a lot, how much of what you learn in practice?
Knowledge. Knowledge. Knowledge. It is they who can convince children that they are in many ways more experienced / learned than elders. Kids today ' getting older' very quickly, making a lot of mistakes by high school. There are adults and children in the same movie. Who is the older person?
Yes, this series resembles something ' Black Mirror' but it differs from it like heaven and earth. The plot here is more intriguing. In 'Black Mirror' he's not that intriguing, he's more intimidating, sinister, some kind of shocking. There is always a little bit of intrigue in each new series. But there is no full detective here.
Screenwriters play, flirt with the viewer, forcing more to play guessing. By the last series it is boring, and the denouement is too catchy out. Although the movie is generally entertaining, it came out at a good time. The cast is not bad, the picture is good.
Dreary hellish. Is this the work of an amateur club? Selection of actors - 0 points, director - 0 points. could not even watch the 1st series. They couldn't even make a normal video of the man in the basement. Such a depressing video would not have gained 5 million views, since it was a little more than depressing. The man doesn't risk anything. No one will send this nonsense to a friend.
An excellent mini-series ending, which is really surprising, each series of viewers are led by the nose, giving false leads, but the main villains are not revealed to us until the most recent series. That’s why I really liked this series. Let's get to the story.
The main character of the series is Nick Brewer. He is a family man who has a calm and measured life, but one day he is kidnapped, and soon Nick's sister stumbles upon a video where Nick admits that he attacks women when this video has gained 5 million views he dies. Admit it, a rather intriguing plot, and with each series passions heat up more and more.
I would like to highlight the acting of Zoe Kazan, she is the main character. For her character Pia Brewer, it is interesting to watch, she coped perfectly with her role, and while watching the series you really empathize with her character.
In August 2019, it was announced that the series would be created and produced by Tony Ayres, Christian White and David Heyman. David is the most successful of these three, behind his shoulders a lot of cool pictures. The producers did their job well.
This series wants to show that you should not blindly trust people, because at the first opportunity they will deceive you and leave you penniless. You need to better monitor your social networks, and not trust your data to anyone. In particular, this series deals with the problem of relations on the Internet. The authors want to show that there is nothing better than communication live.
In the end, I would like to thank the creators of the series, they closed the series after season 1, for this they have a huge respect, because the continuation would spoil all the impression of a good season 1. I recommend watching this series, especially fans of thrillers.
The series is about the current type of crime, with a very interesting investigation. Almost until the last episode, it is impossible to guess who the real criminal is, and even when it becomes obvious, there is no doubt - why? ? I love such stories - in the course of the plot, suspicion falls on one, then on another hero, the motive can be found in each character, but the ending will surprise you. p.s. there is no special action with chases and shootouts here, but skeletons in cabinets will shake everyone.)
Beware of women who do not have children. And protect personal data.
This is my first review of the Movie Search as the Obedient of the Movie God.
I am a student, not a professional critic. Therefore, I will try without spoilers and revealing the plot of You, my friend, to be interested in watching this series.
The original Netflix series. Clickbait. Where did I start?
I read the description. And I was interested.
' Sinister', 'Cybercrime', 'Family' solves the crime itself. There will probably be some kind of social drama. And I was right. In the 8th minute I was hooked by the plot.
Imagine watching your favorite blogger on YouTube, or just sticking to TV, and it’s so creepy. As soon as the viral video gets 5 million views, the man in the ' Box' will be killed. Here's the clickbait. Yeah, I'd like to see what kind of video everyone's watching. Unfortunately, this brought his death closer. What everyone does in the series.
And then, you are waiting for a lot of plot twists and super instructive and super understandable story, understandable to most people, because it is about us, about ordinary working people, families, modern trends, about the selfishness of people (spoiler - childless sister of the same man), about ridiculous resentments and parting with loved ones, after which, as bad luck, something bad happens to them, and then you regret. About the envy of other people to the success of strangers, about working only for money, without interest, about personal responsibility in the workplace, about gratuitous assistance and about people-parasites who only want to create more excitement and negativity around, not a drop while not helping.
In general, Internet crimes and modern trends are waiting for You: interracial relations, even Muslims are and, of course, gays (very little time - this is apparently just for a tick already in TV series, like there are gays - let's skip, no, the series will not see a way out).
The question is, why are there so few lesbians? Funny.
And also important moments of grief and trouble in the family, it is shown how the heroes overcome them, how they try to correct mistakes, how they solve problems together, how they look for allies and how they punish enemies, themselves and with the help of the police.
All in all, in this series everything that you need 95% in life. No pathos, no playfulness, a purely parallel story of some of your streetmates you don't know at all. And he has this in his life.
I divide TV shows and movies into those necessary to watch during life and those that are stupidly wasting time without teaching anything. So this is like a textbook, contains a brief (or not so) instructions on what to do if you have one in life. ..
Colleague critic Sahalinets says the series is too long and sometimes you can fall asleep. He's probably right. Although, Netflix decided, apparently, to give more time to reveal the heroes.
And also that some heroes are not such, no one, no one to worry about.
I think everyone will find someone to worry about.
Sometimes such stupid questions in the characters' dialogues, like ...' What will we do?'. But when you look at yourself in the mirror, you remember that you and I are also stupid in life.
The main thing in this series (and you understand yourself) is that people are not perfect, and you need to somehow live with it. You and I are not perfect, but you still need to strive for perfection and correct your mistakes and solve problems, do things. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?
The actors, I think, are very smart. Especially the main villain, his life is what your life can turn into if you do nothing.
If you could write the second title of the review, I would call it '. Take action now!'
With or without the police. One or with assistants.
Be bold. As the heroine of this series, she does not care about private property, because the lives of loved ones are more important.
Thanks to this series, you will surely take note that vulture journalists can be scared off with water from the hose.
Thank you to the writer and director for the fragment of each series on the most interesting.
I also recommend watching other films directed by Brad Anderson.
Final assessment. Good show. Minus score for excessive tightness and small, small film sins.
Hold on, buddy, the first series and you won't regret it! The only spoiler in the title of the review

Oh, how bad the morning started for Pia Brewer! Looking into a well-known vlog, she found a reference to “tin”. A battered man holds posters saying he is stalking women and as soon as the video has five million views, he will be killed. And it would be all right, but only on the screen her beloved brother Nick! And the people, meanwhile, climb to see the hard and the counter is rapidly twisting. The case is joined by the police, as well as a bunch of bored slackers, at the same time a public discussion is unfolding - or maybe Nick is really an abuser and even a murderer of women, because as you know, for men there is no presumption of innocence.
The new series from Netflix corresponds to almost all modern trends at once. Here you have identity theft, trolling and bullying and harassment, MeeToo (where else!), interracial relationships, gays, vulture journalists... well, only transgender. In short, a full package. However, projects of this type were already filmed by the sea, so Clickbait does not particularly stand out against the general background. Let’s start with a good show.
The main thing here is that the plot is really intricate and the right word, to guess who the real criminal is a bit difficult. Someone may have done it, but not me. I confess that somewhere from the third episode I sinned on one minor character, but at the beginning of the last series I was sincerely surprised – this is really an unexpected turn! And this character appears in the first episode! And strangely enough, the turn is quite logical. Indeed, the Internet is literally teeming with people pretending to be someone completely different and not necessarily for evil purposes. I just want to somehow brighten up the routine and longing of my dull life. In a quiet place... In general, I do not see anything particularly far-fetched in the denouement.
Amusing and that, judging by this series, and in the United States there is a well-known principle – do you want the crime against your loved ones was solved? You can open it yourself! And the police do not need it, they would grab a suitable suspect and close the case.
Unfortunately, the merits of the project end there. Yes, the plot is twisted, but with its implementation there are big problems. The series is too long even for eight episodes, five more than enough. But the number of any inconsistencies clearly exceeds the permissible limits, and some of them are too much. I won’t be spoilers, but Emma’s storyline is a blatant scam. This could only be done by a mentally ill person, but it is shown as quite normal, except with a particularly Deep Inner World!
Acting work is mediocre, and the characters themselves are divided into two categories - unpleasant and none. And although the course of events is interesting waiting for a solution, the characters do not cause any sympathy. Don’t let God have such a family! And this is a huge disadvantage for a work of art.
Summing up, I will say that before us a typical Netflix product is a rather curious idea and crooked execution, plus a social conjuncture with a clear overkill. Nevertheless, I will still put a positive assessment - no matter how you spin, and infrequently you will see a detective, where you guess who the killer is.

Oh, yeah, it's funny, but this is a rare American project where there are no beautiful women, all so ordinary. And that's probably a plus, too. :
I died twice during viewing: from yawning and from laughter.
A typical plot: a crime has been committed, the police and close victims are looking for a solution to the victim’s past. In theory, each new discovery and detail should confuse the audience, changing the assumptions of the viewer about who is the killer.
The problem is that the creators failed to convince the viewer to empathize with the characters, new facts are revealed not due to a strong storyline, but literally due to the fact that each character of this series (except, of course, the police) understands metadata, passwords, and gadgets.
The glory of “Black Mirror” does not give creators peace, and having decided to make this series a social drama about the dangers of social networks and gadgets, they fail miserably.
There was no thriller, the dull “clifhangers” caused even greater anguish than the acting.
The main role was taken by Adrian Grenier, who shone only once after the cult “Beauties” in the episodic role of a chef in “The Devil Wears Prada”. In the role, he is organic, although he got very little screen time. I hope that this trickster on Netflix will help him restart his career and give him new roles.
“Why don’t you download data from the internet to find the killer?”
Why don't you make a good show?
P.S. The worst part is the ending. The criminal, by the way, is very unpredictable, but this storyline is so far-fetched that it becomes awkward for both the actors and creators of the series.
