I want a sequel! Well, what is this proverb - 'Good - a little bit '! Like some idiotic series, 16 or more episodes. Like a serious, dramatic work like ours 'Silence' so barely on Episode 4. On the one hand, it is clear: good, original is expensive, even for Ernst Channel One, where the series was shown (one of the main reasons why the fifth year can not attach my big, 14 episodes, family historical detective drama ' Policeman from Rogozhansk ' expensive in production '). But in the case of ' Silence' I did not see some impressive budget, it is not an epic like ' The Death of the Empire'. Why is this so, Gentlemen and Manufacturers? In the latest series, ' Silence' quite logically, albeit hastily, ends. But we can count on the second and third seasons! And what happens: poisoned the soul, forced to stick to the screens, and ... boom? No, that's not going to work!!
Why, as they would say in Odessa, I breathe so unevenly to 'Silence'? Take a look at it yourself and you will understand. According to the story, the former front-line correspondent Ganin, who in 1947 in Leningrad creatively ' blocked', according to him, because of unsuccessful amorous affairs, receives a letter-call to Vyborg (according to the series - to the nearby village of Ostrovnoye, which echoes the town of Ostrov from the series ' Scream of Owls'), where his father, a police major and a bitter drunkard were found dead. As a true journalist, the son begins his investigation, which naturally leads him to the local GRO, where he becomes a newspaper chronicler, and in fact a freelance employee under the patronage of an intelligent and charismatic captain, a kind of Dr. Watson, however, very rough. And so on. The series is built on one of two common schemes, which I dubbed ' kebabs': there is a long end-to-end action / case ' shampur' on which, like pieces of kebab, strung suddenly arising ' cases' investigation of which usually takes one or two series.
What do I find so special about 'Silence'? - First of all, this is silence! Silence of the wretched, frightened & #39; life & #39; towns where, to call for help, it is necessary to break the glass at the neighbors, where people prefer not to stay, and who is excessively delayed, he is given either a train ticket or ... to the next world. All this is artistically emphasized by a deep psychedelic. I have already memorized the very first, static shots of the series for life: at night, a lamp under a lampshade creaks tirelessly from the wind over the pier, and ' somewhere there' the corpse of Major Ganin caught from the sea is packed... So directing and shooting here is at a high level. As for the actors, then, undoubtedly, the venerable Alexander Bukharov pulled the entire blanket over himself. Its captain UGRO is not some idiotic head throttle (type of a number of well-known TV series), but, on the contrary, a very intelligent, far-sighted (attracted to work ' correspondent'), and not devoid of human weaknesses (departed from his wife ' left' with a red-cheeked girl) a real Soviet cop. But the main character, also known serialist Leonid Bichevin, did not succeed here in particular - so, the St. Petersburg intellectual ... However, with his role and will not play out. Much more interesting are the actors who played the killers - ' the guy from the well', the drivers. I more than believe them! What a texture!
That's all. I want to! My assessment -
