Memory loss Such films can intrigue with their plot and interesting plot twists, especially if the topic of amnesia and memory loss is touched upon.
And, by the way, about the plot, a young guy named Cohen (played by Jeremy Sumpter) wakes up in the hospital, completely remembering how he got here, and what really happened to him, even his name he did not know. In the hospital, he meets an attractive and charming nurse named Sophia (played by Pardis Saremi) and a long relationship begins between Cohen and Sofia, until Cohen and Sofia began to live together.
I will say that the first half of the film is quite intriguing and attracts attention, because everything related to Cohen was intertwined with his past childhood memories, with his adult memories when he met the girl in the bar, and Cohen may have had some psychological trauma.
It is not for nothing that I mentioned childhood memories, as this memory took place at the chapel. By the way, the original English title of the film Chapel, which translates as Chapel, and Amnesia is a Russian localized name. In principle, these two names correspond to the film, but if Amnesia is a simple title that reflects the essence and plot of the film, then the name Chapel can be understood in two ways, since the Chapel itself acts as a kind of hidden meaning of this film, and we will never know what happened in the chapel in Cohen’s childhood.
The film also highlights the relationship between Cohen and Sophia. Sophia is a beautiful young girl who tried to do a lot for Cohen, and she did, but Cohen in my mind was kind of out of place.
I think that the film is weak in the second part, the intriguing part that was traced through the film, moved to a more concussed part, I personally, it was a little unclear what happened to Cohen in reality, and the ending of the film also confused me a little.
Yes, and I want to mention in the secondary role of Locklin Monroe, who often flashes in this kind of second-rate films. His character is somehow connected with the character of Cohen, but I myself could not fully unravel this essence.
Amnesia is a standard film that first intrigues, then moves into those moments in which the action takes place in a hectic way, and director Courtney Page apparently decided to show us some unexpected twists towards the end of the film.
