Oh, and a phantom house! Brrrrrrrr! Very gray and uninteresting was the film from Mr. Kristofovich, well, and this is not surprising, the works of Ustinova, alas, never shone originality, in my opinion. The story itself is very stretched in time, while not saturated with absolutely nothing. Constant lyrical digressions, which have nothing to do with the detective line, killed this series completely. When the face of a real criminal began to loom on the horizon (and, it is worth noting that among the suspects I had much more interesting personalities and, accordingly, more original options for the development of events), it generally became dreary to fools. The film is called "The Dowry House." At the same time, there is nothing “fantastasmagorical” or even remotely resembling a thriller here. The question is, why should I give this name? . .
However, there are many oddities here, and they, unfortunately, are easily explained (despite all the mystery of the name of this movie).
Explanation 1 - a talentless scenario and a complete lack of imagination in the author of the work. Well, if you have swung at Mrs. Agatha Christie, gathering your characters in one room and decided to methodically kill them one by one, as in the famous “Ten Negroes”, then bring it to the end, or at least gracefully try it! What's up? Well, if you have already remembered the Writer and his Roman, living his life, then weave something interesting, if not brilliant, into the outline of the work - Maestro Bulgakov to help! Unfortunately, Ustinova managed everything very helpless and somehow unnatural. It is better to review for the hundredth time the “Pokrovsky Gate”, where a communal apartment, without murders and detectives, however, looks more attractive and a hundred times more witty. What are we comparing? .
Explanation 2 - is a completely stupid game of actors and their equally failed selection. Well, which of Igor Kvashi is a doctor, and even with such a mission? And the Olympics? It's just a parody. Not to mention the fact that this type works in the press service (that is, I can assume that in the past it is a journalist!). No, fire me!
Explanation 3 - Unsuccessful production. It was necessary to cut off all the extra lines that may be present in the novel Ustinova, and focus on the detective, making the film, in general, more dynamic and natural.
