I can't remember how many times I've seen this movie. I think three times - in second grade, a few years later and in the first year of the academy. I recently wanted to revisit it.
"Rock and Roll for Princesses." The name itself sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Filmed in 1990, the same came out in 1991. I mean, it was brand new when I first saw it. As a child, I found him unspeakably stupid. But I watched it because I had no choice. Is one channel on TV a joke? In my first year, I didn’t change my attitude. But I just watched it in a very sad and bright period of my life: the end of my first year, the sanitary practice, the nascent aversion to hospitals, the first realization that I was in the wrong place. My then naive creativity, my evening trips around the city. The coconut dragee that I bought according to tradition and ate on the move out of my pocket. (": Why do you want to have pockets?) Shame not to know the answer!
So I wanted to review it. I pumped it out and spent the whole evening. No regrets!
What surprised me was that when I was 28, I saw the same movie very differently. Yeah, the movie is really stupid. But the fact is that it a priori was designed. It cannot be taken seriously even as a fairy tale film (of course, if a fairy tale can be taken seriously at all). It just needs to be watched... What genre is this? I think he's extragenre. It's a fairy tale. This is an eccentric comedy, parodying fabulous stereotypes. It's a musical. There is even something of an operetta (some may find it strange, but I love operetta!). It is surprisingly bright and light - it is the same unusual brightness and lightness as in the "Labyrinth" or "Formula of Love". The songs are ridiculous, but very memorable. Even attachment (although songs are easily attached to me). There is no good choreography...
I have a tradition of watching some films once a year: in particular, “Amelie”, “Alien” of all parts, “Jurassic Park 1-2” and others. I’m going to watch Rock and Roll again.
In general, if you like operetta and everything eccentric, you must watch.
