Two lonelinesses converged... This slow-moving film is based on the play of the famous playwright, prose writer and screenwriter Juliu Edlis. More precisely, Adlis first wrote the script for the film (1968), and then wrote the play itself (1977). As a playwright, it was easy for Edlis to work with a subject where there are only two main characters: hydrologist Lesha (Alexander Pavlov) and temporarily appointed assistant Lisa (Tamara Sovchi). If Alexander Pavlov had only the second role in his creative biography, Tamara Sovchi had the 11th after five years of acting.
In general, the picture turned out to be quite mediocre, although I personally expected something deeper and more profound. The main characters looked on the screen “flat” and inexpressive. The spontaneous rampage of Lisa, who fell into the bluster, did not find a preliminary explanation and looked like an unfounded hysteria of a spoiled “city lady”. The acting sometimes caused surprise with its underlined expressionlessness. Mimically, Lyosha and Lisa turned out to be very similar - little emotion, little expression.
Against their background, Lev Durov looked much brighter, although he starred in only a few scenes. The film clearly lacked the depth of the relationship between two young people, simply left behind when the viewer was literally confronted with the fact of their marriage. The topic of loneliness is very personal and even intimate. It is inextricably linked to the place where people spend many months. In this regard, the operator Viktor Sheinin did not fail, expressively showing natural beauty in different seasons of the year.
