Try not to die with laughter... I never liked the star of “old school” fighters, karate player – bearded Chuck Norris, and did not think that I would have to write a review of the picture with his participation. But just the other day, I decided to review all these old-fashioned thrashy fighters of the 80s - 90s, and if possible leave my feedback on them. And the gap in your discretion in this way can be filled. Of course, as a child, I watched several action films with his participation, but I did not bother especially at them, the benefit was much higher-quality action opuses of the genre, in which such idols as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone and Steven Seagal shone (of all of them - my favorite, but later, alas - published in circulation). Compared to their films, Chuck Norris left much to be desired. Now it is clear that the karates themselves are innocent of this. He waved his hands and feet, saying cool phrases doomed to go to the people. Just financed his films by clever third-hand producers - Menachem Golan and Jerome Globe, whose film studio "Canon", in fairness, was never among the majors of Hollywood. But she specialized in the production of cheap fighters, mainly with martial arts. Which were popular at the turn of the 80-90s, and in which, in fact, Carlos Rey (and in the world Chuck) Norris became famous. Frankly speaking, in his career there are several worthwhile paintings that have passed the test of time, and painlessly can be viewed today. But this mystical thriller, of course, does not apply to them. Aaron Norris’s opus (who didn’t understand Chuck’s brother) is a poorly made, unserious and therefore ignored, a passing film from the category “to look at something in the evening on the video – to forget in the morning.” Therefore, even to perceive “Growing Hell” as a serious thriller, and to make any claims to him – just stupid. Therefore, my review is not negative, but indifferently neutral. For when I was a child, I watched a couple of replays of this then-frequently televised film (although then known as Going to Hell), and I even liked it (as shameful as it is now to confess)! Well, how about: a plot about the eternal confrontation between Good and Evil, which tells the story of two cops - partners who accidentally went on the trail of the messenger of Darkness, who woke up many centuries later, in order to plunge the World into a nightmare. As the events unfold, there will be blood killings, satanic rituals and fights in the masterful performance of the charismatic Chuck Norris - what else does a child need for happiness?! And in addition, the titles from the prologue are stylized as “Star Wars”! It is now almost all aspects of the production you can make claims, the main of which – how could this even be missed in the cinema?! And not only in the States, but also in a number of other countries, where the opus Norris Jr. even managed to earn some money (the rest is habitually beating the video market). But the whole point is that today hardly anyone will willingly review such a thing. Unless, of course, he was not tortured by nostalgia for childhood, or there was a desire to get acquainted with the filmography of the star of the action genre Chuck Norris.
Artists engaged in roles play like God put on his soul, the performer of the role of Prosatanos twists, laughs sinisterly and tries to copy the look of Bela Lugosi. Special effects are such that without laughter you can not look (what is worth at least monsters in hoods - from the prologue of the picture, which are fighting the Crusaders of King Richard or frankly rubber torn heart). Fights are monotonous, and besides, they are not at all numerous. Although the pimp episode often flashed in many other films, for example in the comedy “Nanny”. Remember the scene in which the grooms are watching TV, and there they show a “cool” moment when Chuck Norris’ character says to a bad guy: “Kick me,” and when he fulfills his request, grinning asks: “Is this a blow?” This is a blow! and you hit the scoundrel in the jaw, so much so that he flies over the hood of the car behind. Today it looks not without irony, but how strange – such “overrated” moments just save the picture, allowing you to watch it to the end. Jokes invented by the screenwriters (mainly based on the diversity of partners, and the desire for an ever-humming Negro with dreadlocks will be reinforced) are hardly able to cause at least a smile. And fussing with juvenile thieves in the Jerusalem market can only irritate the desire of the director and actors to evoke sentiment. Yes, by the way – the action takes place in the homeland of the production tandem – because in the plot, based on far-fetched motives, the Israeli police call partners (as if you can not settle this case over the phone!). The funny thing is that as soon as the heroes fly to the land of the children of Israel, the local captain tells them not to get involved in this matter and to go back! However, as you can guess, Chuck Norris is a stubborn guy, and he decides to bring this mysterious case to the end. Over time, the plot invented as many as three screenwriters will feature a historical - mystical artifact (with which you can destroy a demon), a woman - a historian - with whom the hero Norris has potential shuras - murs, clichéd phrases of the messenger of Darkness and a banal confrontation that ends as thank God did not end "The End of the World" with Schwarzenegger (i.e., the victory of a good cop depended on a couple of strong teething and nude blows from the turn). In short, if you want to laugh and spend 1.5 hours in front of the TV, please. Want a dark and action-packed mystical thriller - the above mentioned "End of the World" to help you.
