Cinema of Georgia. A great legacy. Part 18. Shota Managadze is a wonderful Georgian director who has directed some great films. This picture is proof of that. In this film, the director told the viewer a touching and vivid story with a happy ending.
The young boy Gogita lives in the mountain village of Sabudara with his family. The village is famous for its pottery art. Father Gogita known throughout the district pottery master Sacino. He tries to teach his craft Gogit, giving him the secrets of his skill. Gogita willingly accepts these lessons, along the way leading an unpretentious life of a teenager, cheerful and joking. And as befits a passionate young man, he is in love with one of the local girls. But it happens that he learns that the family of the girl he is in love with is leaving for Kutaisi. Without hesitation, he decides to follow her. And in a big city, a simple village boy will be waiting for unexpected twists of fate.
Now it is a classic production, in which there is nothing superfluous. The director very skillfully and multifacetedly showed the viewer the beautiful time of growing up, finding happiness to be in love, finding yourself, returning to the origins and simply happiness to be young when all roads are open before you.
In a big city, a village boy, at first seemingly lost and stiffened, begins his way into a big and adult life. He will not find his calling immediately, but good people will help him and he will pull out his lucky ticket. After all, the pottery that his father taught him will help him and make his work interesting and most importantly bring Gogita great joy. Here, working at the automobile plant, Gogita will meet different people, make friends, break into the forefront of production, eventually find the one she loves. And most importantly, he will not forget about his father and mother, returning to his native village by another person who has grown stronger and found his calling.
The director managed to accurately reveal and most importantly show the changing character of the growing young man. From a timid young man to a strong guy who can hold the blows of fate. Shota Managadze endowed his protagonist with beautiful human qualities, which are revealed with extraordinary force as the hero grows up.
Together with the storyline about the boy, the director reveals to the viewer another plot basis of the tape associated with the tragedy of the village from which everyone leaves for the big cities.
The picture is imbued with love for his country, small Georgian villages and big cities like Kutaisi. Beautiful cameraman Georgy Chelidze, who worked with many famous directors, captured the historical layer in this tape. After all, we will not see such Kutaisi now, what can we say about the footage that captured the Georgian village, powerful, large-scale and very meaningful.
To all fans of Georgian cinema, I recommend this classic production of the studio Georgia – a film for viewing.
