halfway Tim and Peter have been friends since college. Although they share social status (Tim belongs to a very rich and respected family, and Peter is the son of an ordinary janitor), and different life principles, their friendship is unbreakable. However, very soon their friendship will have to endure severe trials, because Peter for the sake of gaining power in Washington is ready to go to the corpses, betraying everyone and everything. What will Tim do in this situation?
The film “True Colors” in 1991, directed by the famous director Herbert Ross, in the American box office passed unnoticed, despite the excellent acting duet of James Spader (Tim) and John Cusack (Peter), who played their characters vitally and realistically and powerful direction, keeping in suspense from beginning to end. American viewers, of course, saw in the tape a strong share of criticism of the “American dream” and how Peter achieved it. His love of power overshadowed his humanity and morality, but Tim is also far from clear, because he had everything from birth. Their friendship was doomed from the beginning, although the film perfectly shows that careerism can be disastrous, exposing the true essence of a person.
I can not fail to note the beautiful and stylish work of the operator Dante Spinotti and the bright, nostalgic soundtrack of Trevor Jones.
True Colors is a great mix of psychological and political drama, shot in the style of the best films of the 90s, which I recommend to all fans of good Hollywood movies.
