Until that time, Maxwell, until that time I love movies with Steve McQueen. A wonderful actor. I tried to find and watch all the movies with him. However, finding this film was not an easy task. The film is not that it was not on the shelves, I could not find information that it was translated and went on sale in our country. We managed to find and watch the film in the original language.
Watching the movie gave me great pleasure. Unfortunately, with my knowledge of English, I did not understand all the dialogue of the characters of the film, but the jokes and tricks of the main characters made me smile almost the entire film.
I don’t like talking about actors. I'll say this: I believe them. Maxwell Slaughter (Jackie Gleeson), a forty-year-old fat man for whom the army has become his home, is at the same time an unshakable and vulnerable person who dreams of living calmly on a paradise island, away from the hustle and bustle. And his protégé is Eustis Clay (Steve McQueen), an army crook, in any situation getting away with it, both independently and with the help of his favorite.
'Maxwell, with your brains and my ideas, we will conquer the world!' - both heroes are looking for ways to earn money for a better life and leave the army. And in this regard, they constantly get into alterations, sometimes very serious.
The film was very kind and a little sad. Wonderful acting, dialogue, jokes, music, this film has everything that modern cinema lacks.
