In the footsteps of the wandering dead I want to tell you about the misadventures of someone who follows the trail of the wandering dead.
Black comedy with Fernandel, who for the first time in this history showed his signature smile only in the 18th minute. I don’t remember the second time.
Strangely enough, the story itself is very reminiscent of “12 chairs” by Ilf and Petrov. Only instead of a living room set - wardrobes, and instead of diamonds of the deceased old woman - her corpse in person.
“Finance does not tolerate frivolity, especially black humor.”
Financial inspector Alfred Puck lives with an 80-year-old aunt. One day, on a very frosty day, an old woman decides to go to Clermont to sell her estate and collect furniture. On the way, Grandma dies of hypothermia. The driver and the loader put her body in the closet, as if in a coffin, and in this form deliver Monsieur Puku. But in Paris, a truck is stolen.

In general, it turned out quite high-quality production. Especially good landscape sketches, inspired by experimenters of the silent cinema. But personally, I lacked satire, and Fernandel plays a little dull. His masterpieces are yet to come.
