International Space Station Two astronauts arrive on the ISS, the international team arranges a cordial meeting, and now the crew consists of three Russians and three Americans. While the newcomers are mastering, a large-scale war between Russia and the United States suddenly begins on Earth - both sides contact their cosmonauts and order them to take control of the station by any means necessary.
Nowadays, it is often possible to encounter cases when the trailer and the very idea of the project seem really interesting and promising. However, in practice, it turns out to be a frankly weak project that does not use even half of the existing potential. Unfortunately, one of these projects was this film directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite.
The film begins quite interesting and promising. However, once the first twist of the plot occurs, the story actually goes in the opposite direction from expectations and it is not only about how boring the events develop and how the story actually tramples on the same place. The matter in the characters themselves, which actually do not change against the background of what is happening and even the snotty finale with the call “let’s live together” looks very tense and perhaps even inappropriate.
Not to mention the direction of Gabriela Cowperthwaite. The picture is obviously unlucky with the release time. Since after “Gravity” by Alfonso Cuaron and “The Challenge” by Klim Shipenko, all these scenes on board the ISS and gravity look very theatrical, staged and simply boring. Moreover, having all the chances to draw even such a meager scenario perfectly sustained suspense level, Cowperthwaite tries to sit on two chairs at once. Equally trying to develop the film as both a drama and a thriller. But obviously not succeeding in their desires and undertakings.
The worst thing about actors. Chris Messina, John Gallagher Jr., Costa Ronin, Pilou Asbeck and even Ariana Debows are not bad actors. But as a result, they simply have nothing to play and the actors seem to play at half their strength. The only exception is Maria Mashkova. But to pull her single-handedly the whole film on her shoulders is unfortunately not possible.

The International Space Station is another example of a picture with a very promising idea and huge potential, which in fact turns out to be simply boring, weak and not using even half of its potential.
