Walker. I had no time to write about “Pretty Woman on the turn”, as the screens rolled out a new project with Kate. For fans to see, what is there! I’ve already watched four episodes, but I’m not sure I want to continue.
Beth Burgess, a journalist of indefinite age who works for a prestigious Colorado newspaper, receives a prize for creative achievements. But the local triumph turns into a collapse on the same evening - Beth is accused of inventing non-existent quotes and kicked out. And now the poor bugger struggles in some poor online publication and curses everything in the world. And then the husband wants to take her to a remote place, and... God wants kids! In short, life went awry... But suddenly the heroine has a chance to fix everything. She receives a letter from a black woman serving a life sentence for the murder of a white husband. She is innocent and a victim of systemic racism. So it's up to the little thing to get her out and here she is - great glory and complete rehabilitation! But, of course, all this promises a lot of trouble for our unfortunate Beth.
At first, as always, about the good and good here is exactly one thing – our Katya looks just great. Well, yes, there is no doubt the merit of plastic surgeons and makeup artists, but nevertheless, her 48-year-old family does not give her! Unfortunately, the merits of the project end there. The script isn’t that bad – it’s just banal to the horror and is made up of seven (!) screenwriters on the principle of Irish stew. Obviously, all this was conceived as an ironic detective, but it is painfully stupid, and beaten and flat jokes do not save the situation. So scolding Kate for a bad game language does not turn – such a role would not save the great actress. Alas, but it seems that now good scenarios bypass her side, and you need to earn a living, so you have to take on the hack.
I can't say it sucks, you can watch it, but you don't have to, unless you're a Beckinsale fan. Although there is one really funny joke here:
Aren't you in menopause?
- Nope!!
And here Kate definitely did not have to squeeze out a furious indignation! But for four episodes, this is not enough.
