Second chance. Many are familiar with the 1999 documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs, which, along with Jurassic Park and Earth Before Time, nurtured a love for prehistoric reptiles in children around the turn of two centuries. In 2013, the producers of the holding “BBC” decided to ride their golden ceratops again and released not a documentary, but rather an animated film “walks with dinosaurs 3D”, where the lizards were re-voiced by famous actors, and the plot began to resemble something in between “Earth before the beginning of time” and “The Lion King”. The picture of success, to put it mildly, did not have. Critics of course noted that computer graphics has become more beautiful in the 15 years since the release of the series of the same name, but the script and voiceover were defeated.
The situation was saved by a re-mounted and almost halved version, which I had to see. The authors moved away from the idea of humanizing (and voicing) dinosaurs and returned to the concept of the original series with minor changes. This is again a dock about the life of prehistoric reptiles with a voiceover narration of the presenter (this time the infamous Benedict Camberbetch). From the former "cartoon" remained the general plot of growing up a baby Pachyrinosaurus, and, at times, not animal-rich facial expressions of characters. The film is likely to appeal to children’s audiences and those who want to remember the former BBC series, especially since the rewired picture fits into the timekeeping of the standard series of Walks with Dinosaurs.
