Riverdale in a world of illusion High school student Olivia loses her best friend Jane, who ends her life by suicide. Liv, along with his second friend Izzy, suddenly finds a profile of Jane in social networks, from which she forgot to leave. Using the profile of the deceased friend, the girls begin anonymous harassment of their friends on the Internet, in order to restore justice. However, in the end, the game goes too far: people begin to suffer too much, and the consequences of Jane’s actions begin to affect the lives of Isi and Livy. . .
After watching The Game of Illusion, I had the impression that the film was originally conceived as a standard series from the oillix for 8 episodes, but later was remade into a full meter. The beginning develops very slowly, while the ending of the film simply does not. Seriously, when I write that there is no ending, I don’t mean that it is bad. I mean, she's gone. Just a minute after the event, which should be one of the key, we hear the final speech of the main character and the film ends. As a viewer, I had the impression that the ending had simply been forgotten. It seems like the final series is missing.
In addition, the film tries to tell us several stories at the same time, but in the end does not fully reveal any of them. Viewers are given a piece of a puzzle, a canvas and that's it. There won't be any other pieces of the puzzle. There was a feeling that during the creation of the picture, the authors threw from side to side - what exactly they want to see the film and what exactly the motives and ending will be removed in the end. Because of this, it seems that the film was shot in pieces. Again – the film was clearly conceived as a series, because to reveal all the storylines that were in the film, just physically impossible in 1.5 hours.
I can’t say that I didn’t like the film. He has a very nice picture, a comfortable light, a good cast. Madeline Petsch does a great job as a girl with anxiety disorder.
The result: the film fits perfectly into the category of films - "average" from which you do not expect anything and get little in return. But it is pleasant, unpretentious to spend time under it is quite possible.
