About everything: immediately speaking, this series is not for everyone, which is actually normal, everything is very simple here: the plot and concept, graphics, directing, staging and so on, this is not the first time we see, our cinema is so famous, Bad Comedian has already proved this a thousand times.
Yes, and the concept of post-apocalypse in this form (the opposition of the “new” world and the “old” is not new), a virus that infects only men, our Asian partners also managed to develop a thousand times. But you can immediately see that this is a lush light picture and it should be treated accordingly, and not try to somehow comprehend everything and look deeper.
This is the work that you need to watch to unload yourself, see something funny (and it is here for everyone), notice some references. In addition, about this, quite interestingly played modern trends and events from something easy:
'Forgive us, Yura, we are all...', Gretas, feminism, The Witcher, music, USA vs. DPRK, vaccination + chipping + 5G, social scores, rebranding by removing the Bank from its name, 'preferential' mortgages, eco-schiza and so on.
Up to something so thin in type: lawn 4 times a year, acquittals, state lawyer, fakes and neural networks, rebels rocking boats, “real” election victory, monologues for morality, and in fact on the contrary and so on, this list can go on and on. . .
As they say, “All coincidences are accidental.” It all lies so on the surface that it even went out, but it is even good, but, as you can see, not everyone goes.
About the cast: very interesting, here you can meet as already familiar to pain (literally) faces, and something new (well, for me). There’s no overplay or anything like that in acting, at least I didn’t notice it. In general, here on the base, Epifantsev - Brutalman-warrior-leader, Kologrivy - a kind of fool-simple,
About the visual: the entourage of the old world is straight good, and works one hundred percent, but the new world can sometimes be seen that it is just CGI and catches the eye, but on the other hand it is not a blockbuster to do everything perfectly.
About the “visual”: frequent nudity or naked headlights for some reason many eyes callous, it’s a simple fan service, but in the context of the serial world it’s normal, at least in the city itself, but the reaction of people in reviews is equivalent to the reaction of the hero Kologryvy something, yes says. . .
About music: glass music is what pleases my ears, but the set of author's music from Muscovites also pleases, there is nothing to talk about.
Result: treat this picture easier and generally to life easier and you will have laughter, sin, and everything.
I want to share my opinion about the series. I was going to watch it for a long time, the picture is attractive. I thought, ‘Did our cinematography surpass itself?’
What would happen if men and women were separated?
The series clearly showed what 2 worlds look like after the epidemic of the virus. Female eco-mini world, around order and beauty. All the residents of the "Two Hills" follow the rules, call each other friends, eat the food that prints them the AI Larisa, daily care for the city.
And the male world of slums, where order is remembered only as an anecdote. Located in Moscow, the women of the town of Two Hills call these Muscovites primates. The primate tribe obeys the leader, who skillfully manipulates his herd.
Sooner or later, these worlds will collide due to the actions of some people looking for new adventures, feeling out of place.
Such were Rada and Hera, two people from different worlds, intelligent, determined, but at the same time feeling out of place. Both begin to bring confusion to the female and male world.
Despite the story, it looks very easy. Personally, I watched season 1 in the evenings after work, there are many moments that you can laugh at well.
The graphics are very well done, the matriarchal town looks perfect. If this is really our future, would I live like this?
Musical accompaniment right in the heart.
'Picnic', 'Leprechauns', 'HI_FI'... honestly, I was high while I was listening.
Anyway, I recommend the series. From children it is necessary to look away, a lot of sexual subtext.
I have seen advertising many times, but I thought that the jokes are flat, a lot of naked scenes and not mine at all.
I thought I'd look at it and I was stuck. I love series with a timeline of 30 minutes. It's a drug, like racks.
26 minutes is even less than half an hour, which means you can watch more than one series at a time, a.. ten.
But I have no regrets. The series is full of humor, on all relevant topics.
I have long wanted to see fiction about the social balls, but the Black Mirror did not go down, vomited in the first 10 minutes, and in the 2 Hills everything is close, funny and clear.
So, the distant future, the men were devoured by a virus and everything was divided into M and J.
Women's city - calm, clean, conscious, everyone is engaged in yoga, creativity, read books - in general realize themselves. For conversations in elevated tones, Larissa (an analogue of Alice) records everyone to a psychologist. Oral aggression or sarcasm can be fined. Comfortable, safe. Supermedicine, superscientists, supersociety - that's what authors, mayors and police officers have achieved in 100 years.
Man's world. The pack, the leader, the moonshine, the fights for the territory, the husk and the women. Uff. 100 years have passed by.
It immediately reminded me of the cartoon about the bull Ferdinand, there was a beautiful horse side and a smelly bull side.
Men enter the female world. Everything is very correct, but cold and soulless. Volleyball is played without points, because whoever loses will be offended.
By removing the men, the women removed the feelings. And then anything that might trigger them. These robots in dresses that live by the rules, obey the rules, create that the next ones would live as well. Very unfree in their freedom. And, of course, there is a heroine who wants differently, does not know how. But clearly realizes that she does not want to live like this anymore. She feels she's missing something, that spark of life.
Men, on the contrary, are lumps of adrenaline heated by alcohol, primitive rage, absolute freedom, divide and conquer. Yes, they do not live long, yes, they eat late, yes, they can be killed suddenly by their neighbor. They serve Barosha and are happy with their lives. And they are ready to change only for the sake of their woman, and then until they suspect it.
In both worlds, the political system is clearly shown. How to distort history for the sake of this situation (who else was empty sowing - Hitler), and for the mayor there is nothing sacred - lying on apples, drinking moonshine, doing s*x, how to hide the facts and how much the media depend on advertisers.
I was interested until the very end. The series is colorful, do not forget later. Like the heroes themselves: Baron, Rat, Hera, Vera Nadezhdovna, Elena Zoevna, Rada, Iya and the judge, of course.
The rule in court is not to worry, and in any very unpleasant situation. If you're worried, everything stops. And a break to pee and paragraph 8 of the Constitution "I did not look." These are really useful things - simple and explains everything!
Easter eggs are there at every turn (BalBank - no, now just Ball; viruses, pancemia, CS - now it's a 'very unpleasant situation', delivery from Aliexpress in 6 seconds, bets on MotherBet, the TV series 'Kitchen' and the terrible voice assistant Larisa).
And love is shown beautifully, Romeo and Juliet, they are from different worlds but want to be together. And to do that, they need to change both worlds.
Easy, funny, real. I recommend it.
The series with a loud slogan "First matriarchal".
The first season I was very impressed: I liked the technology, I liked the social structure of the town. It looks comfortable and interesting, progressive and pleasant. No alcohol, no cigarettes, people are healthy and well-groomed. At the same time, individuality is preserved: someone cares about a career, someone wants to win a grant for a child. In short, an interesting interpretation of the future. Primates are here in their rightful place, but the idea of integrating them as the lower strata of the population within the city — I also like, let them benefit and try to learn local rules and laws, may sooner or later rise to the level of those they serve.
The only thing I don't understand is why the seed keepers were made stupid. They could develop in their free time, why not? We would not only be “seeds,” but also minds.
But here's season two. It's a total failure. Completely hacked the idea of the future, as well as the idea of matriarchy, which was performed at the premiere of the series. There is a complete irony over women, a frank smile, they are shown as full of rats and snakes within society, helpless and incapable of governing. A way of life of primates is positioned as freedom, sincerity, openness of desires.
In general, I thought Russian cinema finally rose to something majestic, but in the end returned the plot to its own level, the level of primates. . .
I will say simply: who loves the TV series Kitchen - it will go, it is even more fun and more rusty. Anyone who doesn’t like it probably won’t like it either. This is a question of views and perception of information, if you fundamentally want everything to be “real” – you will not get it. If you are willing to accept the assumptions, the series fire. Yes, there will be questions about the functioning of everything and everything, there will be many of them, but really, should they be asked in relation to a comedy series? To give you one example, in one episode, a character pulled out of his pocket a military briefcase that tracks people on 5g because everyone was chipped in 2020. Nonsense, isn't it? So, who is not ready to “swallow” such nonsense I do not recommend. I urge everyone else, the movie is really cool, with a coolly twisted plot and a lot of cool humor. Characters are colorful, references of all kinds of heaps, humor is credited. I enjoyed watching Season 2 and I’m looking forward to the 3rd. Initially, I did not want to watch, it seemed like a shoe for girls, but when I started watching I realized that the movie was a fire. According to the description, both the first plot and the second were supposed to be so-so, but in fact ... in general, I am waiting for the third season, it is worth it.
P.S. Musical accompaniment is also fire, appropriate, the tracks are cool, there are classics (Kish), there is modern (Girl and the sea). It's cool.
The series left a mixed, mixed impression. I want to mention both the positive and negative sides of the film.
In my opinion, the idea of the series is very mysterious and catchy. Humor is atypical and at first causes a violent reaction, but soon its uniformity begins to confuse.
I liked the high-class acting (thank you to the Russian theater education!). The direction, however, leaves much to be desired. The idea itself is good, but implementation suffers. It was possible to show the development of the main problem more qualitatively and in less series (I believe that one season would be enough to implement the idea). Already at the end of the first, it becomes clear that the series will be stretched, and the main secret will fade into the background.
The main romantic lines in the second season quickly get bored. The situations shown on the screen are typical for Russian melodramas, which causes boredom and annoyance.
It is impossible not to mention such an ambiguous central agency associated with feminism. That matriarchal, that patriarchal society has been reduced to absurdity, is shown too grotesquely (not to mention that feminism does not seek to establish a matriarchy). The comedy component tied to this topic loses its uniqueness and becomes similar to vulgarity. In short, the feminist idea failed.
Mixed impressions remained from the theme of ecoactivism raised by the directors (for example, unpleasant humiliating comments in the direction of Greta Thunberg).
It is unclear who the series is aimed at. People who support feminism will see a mockery of its meaning. Those who wish to study its features will encounter the perverted ideas of the movement. Those who are far from this topic will remain with their opinion and will not notice the catch.
It is very disappointing that such a multifaceted universe has not received the desired realization. It contains multiple details and has great potential for the development of multi-layered storylines and revealing the psychological characteristics of the characters. From my point of view, it would be interesting to finish the series using a reception from dystopias and invite the audience to think about the possible outcome of events.
The main thing in life is to have sex and drink moonshine!
In the beginning it was interesting, unusual dystopia, interesting world. But the more you look, the more you realize that the main idea is that women cannot live without men! And the main joy in life is to drink moonshine and have sex. Moreover, the vibrators of women do not satisfy, you only need sex with a man. And for these two "joys" women are ready to give up and give everything they have: electricity, and the benefits of civilization, and everything, everything, everything ... but secretly, because it is impossible, it is not accepted. Why not? I don't know, it's just not accepted. What prevented them from driving moonshine themselves (by the way, why moonshine, and not some wine?), and not changing it with smuggling, is also unclear. Yeah, not accepted. But why? With the ban on sex, at least you can catch the idea that this is done to reduce the battles for a man, since there are few of them left.
And somehow, after watching it, it's disgusting. . .
Not bad, but there's not much potential for season three.
Strongly knocked down domestic product, exactly 18+. The actors are excellent, including the second plan. The action takes place more than 100 years from the present moment, on Earth the matriarchy prevails. Women’s high-tech cities have a liberal ideology. Sterile cleanliness, health, athletic bodies, elegant outfits please the eye, but confuse the widespread control by artificial intelligence, the dictates of the rules of behavior, the total demonization of the past of mankind. At this time, the bulk of men (with several women) either wander around abandoned supermarkets, or temporarily settle in shabby barracks. Anyone who knows how to read and write is a wise person. It’s really fun and real feeling.
The main plot and small branches are inspired by the recent coronavirus pandemic and various topical agendas. In addition to the conditional division into 2 camps - male and female - in the women's camp there are so-called semen keepers, absolutely cute and hilarious! There is something like the World Council of Mothers, a supranational body that intervenes in critical situations. The problems of artificial intelligence, corruption, environmental pollution are also considered. This series is not so primitive. I do not agree that only cliches about feminism are ridiculed, the male community also gets a lot. Allegedly, men are all lazy, dirty, gluttons, drinkers and abusers. I think it is very foolish to be offended - if you look closely, both camps are shown there with great warmth, and the main idea is that men and women should live together as nature has ordered. Trying to resist nature is not good. Therefore, the characters of the series are drawn to each other, although together they are also not easy. These vicissitudes are quite interesting and fun to play. Yes, jokes are salty at times, but this is an adult series, I don't see a problem. Fans of the comedy club will definitely enjoy (I am not a specialist, but it seems even removed someone from there).
The jokes and plot moves of the second season are noticeably weaker, the writers missed a lot of opportunities that literally lay on the surface. And probably the number of episodes could be halved - the main romantic line has already exhausted itself. The positive point is that in the second season, the main reason for everything that is happening was well explained, although a couple of inconsistencies remained. I don’t know what else to joke about in season three. There is some insufferability about what is happening outside this, relatively speaking, matrix. But in order not to finally slide into banality and Santa Barbara with the same characters, it is necessary to introduce new ones, and part with loved ones. It's sad. In extreme cases, you can release one full-length for fans to somehow answer the remaining questions.
7 out of 10
Idea wow! Plenty of Easter eggs, scruffy jokes and subtle humor. The world on contrasts: the dichotomy of male and female, sterile nesting dolls and wild primates, who, despite everything, are drawn to each other with all their might, for this is the law of nature.
They brilliantly beat the ideas of a democratic society and political behind the scenes. The naive flair quickly flies off the heroes when circumstances demand it. As a result, all this charming fantasy absurdity becomes very real and close to the problems of ordinary people.
Fatal Faith Hope combines a pious mother of the city and a fierce dominant. Prebryk Yulik holds a remarkable power that will reveal his dark side. And even young Rada Elenanovna will go beyond the image of an obedient girl. Everyone is dancing!
I really liked the "advertising" inserts, because in the modern world it climbs from all the cracks and pretty tires the audience. There was a good laugh at this topic.
The picture is great, the actors are good. But the story in general fire, it's really something very original! They both laughed, so the show isn’t just for women. I recommend it.
Two Hills is an interesting vision for a future society where women are dominant and the ideal women’s society is on the verge of change. The story is set in a world where men become a problem and old values collide with new ones. The young heroes, Hera and Rada, try to build their relationship, but face challenges related to the unusual norms of the oil age. They must find their way in this difficult world, where voice assistants do little to understand new rules and norms.
The strength of the series is its current and updated theme, which touches on the problems of equality and opposition of old and new values. The script is well worked out, and the story drags the viewer from the first series.
However, while the concept is interesting, the execution is a bit disappointing. Some storylines seem underdeveloped, and there is a feeling that they are not fully disclosed. The constant confrontation between old and new values sometimes becomes tedious and repetitive.
The cast of the series deserves praise. The main characters perform their roles quite convincingly, conveying the emotions and feelings of their characters. The visual part and design are also made at a high level.
In general, the series “Two Hills” is an interesting and relevant story that makes you think about the role of women in society and the confrontation of old and new values. However, underdeveloped storylines and sometimes tedious confrontation can leave some frustration with viewers.
The second season of “Two Hills” is already alarming. We watched with my husband, if not for him, it is unlikely that even the first season, which, although funny in places, but mostly boring, the second season is simply boring and I almost did not watch, only followed the plot, and here is the plot, especially at the end. If the first season is anti-feminist, the second season is chauvinist. The clue to how women as stupid as heroines created such a high-tech society is that men created everything, and women are just dumb users of the super-product of genius male IT specialists.
And it's never funny anymore. A woman, according to the authors, is someone like a favorite cat or dog, all the interests of which are reduced to relations with the object of her adoration and adoration, namely a man. Even political and power ambitions are denied to women, competition for men is all that women supposedly care about.
In general, I do not recommend the series if you are a woman, and if you are a man too, the authors have zero self-irony, but they can troll women. The authors are very offended by women, apparently they would be for psychotherapy, and not to shoot TV series.
Despite the naivety and simplicity of this creation, I liked it. Beautiful picture, good soundtrack, interesting actors, although they have nothing to play there. But it's like a student acting cabbage. The topic is set, and then improvise. It was a pleasure to play.
In this series there is one interesting idea, very ours - total conspiracy theory. Rough but handsome men, slightly diluted by women, live in almost barbaric conditions in the neighborhood of a seemingly prosperous society of women. And all would be well, but here the luxurious fruits of civilization seduce savages. That sounds familiar, doesn't it?
And then, as the play goes on, it turns out that there is still a higher council over this female civilization. And civilization itself thrives under the supervision of artificial intelligence. And the intellect itself is a creation - well, you have already guessed what gender. And so on and on and on and on. Back in time. In general, this is the rule of the plot of almost any fantastic thriller - a mystery in the past.
And that's where the problems begin. The film attracts with its picture - youth, beautiful bodies, naivety, innocence. And this has nothing to do with the old gray hair of the ancestors. And at the moment when these gray hairs begin to show in full growth. This is the last series, I just want to rewind. And even attempts by writers to joke do not help.
The series can be watched as a clip. But it's best not to turn your head on.
I remember a year ago I accidentally stumbled upon him and looked at him with a volley. Incredibly funny series, lamp and harmless. The authors twist stereotypes and modern agenda so that you laugh. He does not have to be rude to anyone, nor does he have to be rude to anyone. The series would fit into the humour of the 00s when it was possible. And now it seems like a breath of fresh air, especially if you watch mostly Western content.
Acting, especially primates led by Epifantsev, is my respect. The depth of lore and elaboration of the world of the series is not necessary, it is not about this, but what is, explains everything sufficiently and does not seem written on the knee. There are catchy songs.
Season 2 seems weaker than the first, I would like some development, and not a set of the same scenes, but in a different way. Characters don't evolve. But this is already nitpicking, the main thing is a strong comedy, albeit controversial. Showing it to everyone I know!
First season, all 9! Great humor, great idea, satire on everything! What a wonderful world, thought out to the smallest detail! A little spoiled the picture no main character. In the second season, alas, slipped. The ideas were over, so the characters quickly became stupid. Season two is no higher than 7. A total of 8 estimates :)
The second season of the satirical comedy “Two Hills” began, the subject of which is the relationship between male and female beginnings in the setting of a post-apocalyptic dystopia. The charm of the series gives an incredible number of references to the agenda, both local and global.
In the current realities, the launch of such a project was a kind of bet on the viewer, since the self-censorship of Western mass-content figures such a scenario would weed out at the stage of the idea. The continuation speaks of the willingness of the audience to laugh further, although many for some reason it amazes.
Still, it should be kept in mind that the series is not trying to play into a serious discussion about the problems of eco/fem categories, it is not the task of cinema for a general audience. But to laugh at the radical left - why not?
Critics frown that the picture is too low, it smells of bad values. The truth is that among the “really understanding” most of the ordinary people who assertively do not want to believe that everything that happens in the film is funny in its context, and not “the creators did not have enough imagination [for something more intelligent].” Sexism, discrimination, violence, outright dirt – all these are beautiful and terrible at the same time, but why not add reasonable frivolity?
In my opinion, “Two Hills” is suitable for those who are tired of the eco agenda, harassment, femenitives and other me too. In any case, it is unlikely that any series can undermine the really entrenched foundations, otherwise what is the price of your convictions?
Behind the seeming stupidity of the grotesque lies a subtle critique of the excesses (in fact, just lies) in the modern world used by “civilized” politicians: democracy, “fair” courts, “fair” elections, “freedom” of speech, a green agenda, BLM and so on. The string of interpersonal relationships is touched: vertical boss-subordinate, mother-daughter, as well as horizontal: politician-politician, mother-mother, friend-girlfriend and so on. And most importantly, in my opinion, the problem of education is shown. After all, it was possible to do all these ugliness with a society formed “correctly” on one side of the protective dome, and with a completely uneducated society on the other. In short, a wide coverage of topical topics where everyone can find their tuning fork. But those who do not want to delve into the existing problems of today’s world of curved mirrors can simply drink chamomile tea.
The show is like a comedy, stupid. Laundry jokes and too much with the “curves” of actors. But still, 1 in 20 jokes can come in. I, for example, liked the reference that Baron likes tincture on flyfish, but rather it is not even a joke, but a reference. But there is something in this series that makes you watch it to the end, despite the stupid jokes. This is, so to speak, the hidden meaning of everything that happened there. If you look at how this society lives, what laws it obeys, etc. In the end, they make it clear what is driving this whole thing, not what others think. Epifantsev, by the way, already had a similar picture. Not in the sense that it was a dumb comedy, but a film in which society is run by some kind of backstage. There, by the way, he also did not disdain flyers.
The story itself is far from bad, but to realize this whole thing could be a little better. But maybe it wouldn’t have been perceived that way. Something similar to the movie "Idiocracy". It is also, like, a very good idea, but everything is spoiled by toilet humor.
It looks easy. Lots of funny references and Easter eggs. Some will understand, some will not. The script seems stupid at first, but if you accept that it is a bit of satire, a bit of comedy, a bit of abstraction, an assumption about the possible future, then we have a good series that does not pretend to be anything great.
I did not expect anything good from this series, and suddenly almost a masterpiece. Let’s start with how the world of the post-apocalypse is shown, it seems to be a completely light series, but its authors took the quality of their work very seriously. Filmed well, perfectly shown and the world of advanced technology and the world in ruins. The second is not as easy as some people think. I don’t know what the budget is for the show, but it looks very high. Then the script, I had only one nagging, but in the final series, the only gap in the absurd logic of what was happening was clarified and gave a great start for the continuation. I don’t think the show is copying anything. This caustic satire of almost all modern movements, whether progressive or regressive, has gone to matriarchy and patriarchy, politicians and officials and protesters. This is what worlds created by someone like Greta or anarchy lovers will look like. And although all the characters are grotesquely stupid, they are saved not by the magical power of the script, as it often happens, the characters themselves have to try. Excellent format of the series, there are mysteries, Not that the series did not have shortcomings, but this is the case when they do not want to notice.
10 out of 10
The series was just wonderful! The original script, which is clearly distinguished by its pronounced uniqueness, as well as courage and audacity, makes it a perfect difference from the ordinary boring mainstream projects, which, in addition to the artistic goal, have a propaganda guide to re-educate young people of the new generation on new values. The series raises the question of what these changes may lead to in the foreseeable, but perhaps very soon future. And whether these changes will be as good as is commonly assumed in the modern agenda.
Most of all, I liked my bold satirical style in the plot, and the actors’ play was at its height. At first it was very skeptical, but the series surprised me with freedom of thought and ironic criticism of modern realities. It's a terrific idea of where the modern world might go if it continues to move too far in that direction.
I advise people with open minds and free thought, and I do not advise those who do not like criticism of mainstream politics.
The main problem of the series is that the plot is as flat as possible. The idea is great: an original dystopia on the anger of the modern agenda, visually everything is also fine, but every time the writers swing at the ruble, they beat for a penny. For example, guilty boys are taken as punishment to the museum of the Patriarchate, but at the same time it is not shown at all how patriarchy is bad for men, everything is somehow not clear. And these boys themselves are just extras: there is no difference between them and they just repeat everything for their “leader”, and the very beginning of the intrigue about the disclosure of a crept primate in the community of Semyanovos bluntly merged, although it was possible to wrap up a cool confrontation with a spy tint. And so in everything, every time you expect that now it will be exciting, and then disappointment.
The storyline of the city is as predictable as possible, in which the real characters are 1.5 cripples. The main heroine is a character by default: she does not want anything, does not aspire to anything, as she relates to the world where she lives not clearly, the most empty character.
The idea is good, but the implementation was disappointed, it could have been much better.
The script is good, not protracted, unpredictable, makes you watch - what happened to the characters next?
When it comes to small things, the question remains: Where did all this high technology come from, if the entire population of the city is women engaged in jogging, yoga, volleyball and teaching children matriarchy, and ten men throughout the city are semen keepers who take massages, baths all day and milk them twice a week? There is, of course, the order service - policemen riding around the city on bicycles and fined residents for unsorted garbage, and wrestlers in tight-fitting kittens with axelbants, singing "matriotic" songs in a chorus. But who builds houses, makes paths, programs Larissa, maintains transportation, etc.? I hope that this topic will be revealed sometime next season.
Contains many references to modern mass culture: Epifantsev with flybirds, The Witcher 3, Greta Tumberg Square, sausages "Red Price" from a certain ancient store "..0 point", which can still be eaten, illegal plant substance - chamomile, "Lives of Men Important", Landysh 6s, Homosapiensophiles and many others.
We passed on democracy and elections, and of course, corruption and immorality of those in power.
I have read other reviews, men are mostly dissatisfied with the femme-said, women with the demonstration of monkey sex at the beginning of the film, the “vulgar” advertising of a sex toy and the “stereotypical” hypocritical society of women. But this is all “oral aggression” and secondary and only suggests that a particular person does not understand satire or prudish and feminist.
In general, the film is worthy of attention and the rating is unreasonably underestimated.
Two hills. Well, I think it's a sensational and unusual series. There were similar films in the spaces of cinema – TV shows where women and men lived separately. And our writers, authors and director decided to do something similar, but their own.
And so we see. Peace, 2140. More than 95% of the male population died from an artificially created virus. And the female half decided to create their ideal world - matriarchy, without aggression, envy, bullying, harassment and harassment. Every girl lives in her own eco-house, there is a voice assistant that helps in everything - from the checkup of the body to the manufacture of food, clothes on the printer. Everyone is friendly to each other, everyone says I love you, and they talk to each other. They do not kill animals, they do not eat meat, they continue the human race with the help of seed holders. For each city, 10 seed holders are allocated, which are nurtured and nurtured, and a couple of times a week they take seeds using devices. A lot of things are forbidden here, everyone should keep social distance, but everyone lives happily. And in contrast to this matriarchy, we are shown the world of primates. This group of people are men who survived and live on the outskirts of Moscow. They have no signs of civilization, they barely make ends meet, get food, etc. But they are free in their actions, and they too are happy in their lives.
And of course, as in any film, presented each world randomly collide, and some even fall in love with each other, because there is nothing to do with instincts, because women and men are always attracted to each other.
I want to talk about how we are shown both worlds. Namely, a huge work of artists on costumes and decorations was done. So create a future where everything is perfect and beautiful, of course fascinating. Well, of course, the world of primates - to collect all unnecessary things to junk, arrange everything and arrange, is also worth a lot of work.
Good for the cast. There are new faces, such as Pelageya Nevzorov and Nikita Kologrivyi, but there are also long-known people - Svetlana Kamynina, Vladimir Epifantsev, Anna Snatkina, Philip Paledny and others.
There are many funny moments in the series, because we have a comedy series. A lot of sarcasm and jokes, both in terms of everyday things and in terms of global ones. And both worlds come before us in their exaggerated forms when you think it can't get any worse. And of course, everyone in the end chooses who to be, the perfect friend, uncouth primate, or still find a middle ground and try to somehow unite the two worlds. Women cannot be without men, just as men cannot be without women. And I still support the middle ground, but within an adequate normal framework.
Looking forward to the second season, everyone enjoys watching.
When can you call a movie (or series) really worth it?
1. The plot keeps at the screen, there are no serious script jambs or "sagging" when the script is smeared on timekeeping.
2. The presence of its own, unique "atmosphere", the multilayered world invented by the scriptwriter.
3. Novelty of the plot or, more simply, "this has never happened."
4. An abundance of references and quotes applied in the right places and at the right time.
All these parameters are kept in the "Two Hills" - in the best form. Looks in one breath, constant punchlines give a lot of fun, acting is great - what else is needed for a pleasant evening spent with family (+ 16 years) or with friends?
This is perhaps the most positive post-apocalypse scenario imaginable. Sexist and homophobic jokes from the very first minutes of the series are a rarity in our tolerant days and it is... just a holiday!
Fantastic props of the series - worked out and does not cause the usual for domestic cinema sad grins: 'far away to Hollywood, of course.'.
Epiphanes is gorgeous, as always. But the rest of the actors do not give cause for criticism: all act lively, characteristic!
Quotes from the series should be promoted to the people. The series is just asking to be the source of new memes... if only for no 'but': it's Russian! And we people are used to the fact that the Russian series is the worst. Therefore, alas, it will remain "festival" for a limited number of amateurs, not burdened with political correctness.
The series is a comedy, even a satire. And satire on the now popular dystopias. To begin with, all dystopias are illogical. Take any one. However, utopias, including those recognized in philosophy (as a science), are also all illogical and do not stand up to sound criticism. And then there's the satire of all that good. And you are seriously trying to attract this satire to some ideas. And forgetting that these ideas and trends are a great many. From more or less adequate to frankly thrashing.
At the same time, the work of propaganda is very well shown in the series - when society is attracted to one model of behavior by means of propaganda, and the authorities, secretly from society, do what they want. Including what they themselves have designated as illegal. Does that ring a bell? From the fresh – the scandal with Boris Johnson, because of which he was already removed from the post of Prime Minister. I'll remind you, he was removed for one party. It was just a party when everyone was forbidden to organize mass events. In the series, the introduction of this model was carried out simply according to the textbook of an effective ruler - propaganda, a reward for success (and the reward is assigned to what is convenient for the ruler - motherhood), the removal of dissenters.
At the same time, as if in spades, show the society of primates. This society is at first sight the exact opposite of the shining reality of the Two Hills. But in essence it is exactly the same: everyone should benefit the community, you need to multiply and multiply, propaganda and imposition of values, the ruler does what he forbids his subjects. In both "civilizations" it is positioned that only their society is free, but "they" - "they" are not free!
And then, according to the plot, the creators first confront these two such different (no) worlds, the main characters break patterns. And then they systematically lead to the destruction of both civilizations as they existed at the beginning of history.
And I think it's shown very well. It is a skill to be able to organically combine real methods of propaganda and a completely invented, abstract world.
- The series was created as a lyso-obedience to the “periphery” (fem, sexism, etc.), an attempt to make money off this “periphery” and to destroy the very concept of “man” with its masculine component, putting you, respected men, in the rank of “primates”, “gopniks”, “bovd” and made you in the eyes of the public animals.
- There can be no "hidden satire" here. Our TNT-style movie with toilet humor can't make subtle satire. Degradation was successful.
- The show tells you head-on, 'fem,' despite all the downsides, it's beautiful and great. Yes, there are quarrels, but beautiful and successful! Be like them. And men are animals. Okay. Forget the hidden meaning. Him. Here. Nope.
And without women, of course, we will live in ruin!
And you, brothers in gender, are needed only as an appendage for procreation, and then you are useless and know nothing more.
Now let me go a little bit on the logic:
Okay.
Apocalypse. Women have built their ideal world (at the end I will describe the joke with it).
Male society is presented as savages who cannot create anything.
Remind me, dear viewers, who created everything around you? Not "the owner of the hills." You're sitting in a house that men built, you're looking at a monitor that men invented, you're looking at a computer that men built, and you're looking at the electricity that men built and they keep the energy of the planet stable.
Next.
Women support their world, force fields, holoprojectors, nanotechnology, etc.
- After the apocalypse, the most that these feminists with beautiful faces would become is a commodity in the slave market (as it was after the collapse of any civilization).
Also,
Stupid dialogues, stereotyped sayings, impregnated with the help of the script with hatred for all those who do not have between their legs.
Pros:
+ computer graphics and design of houses.
Nothing else.
This can not be because there were already experiments in the Western type of show “The Last Hero”, where people were divided by gender (of which 2 in total) and settled separately from each other. As a result, everything was in order in the “male” group, and after 3 days of relaxation on the beach, the supplies ran out and chaos began.
The main plot of this series is built not on matriarchy, but on the fantasies of men about the female world, how bad they live without men, what to do and how to live for them. But let’s omit this point, it’s just a series made by men about the Matriarchate, here it would be possible to finish, but the men decided to go further and throw out their “masterpiece” on the expanses of television and the Internet. Why in matriarchy the main goal of a woman is to give birth, I never understood. We are shown how well the “seed keepers” live and here one could object, but they still have a ban on sexual intercourse, but no, even here men found themselves a fetish in the form of falling in love with a car. Even in the world of women, the guardians of the seed are served by women, treated as gods, although in real life men do nothing, and in fiction, I also want to note that the guardians live at the expense of women. Other ‘small’ details can be overlooked, such as ‘Why do women in their ‘perfect’ world wear tight T-shirts and leggings?’ Why can’t they express their emotions and feelings? Why is sexual intercourse still prohibited?', because I remind you, the whole series is built on male fantasies, I was also surprised why men did not add to their plot 'self-care' and did not include mandatory makeup before going out.
The funny fact is that there is no "women's friendship" in the series, well, it makes sense, because all women are rats, but men have a real tight male friendship. When men come out and tell everyone why they hate women with all their guts, and their relatives are respected, respected and cherished, but this will probably not happen in our real world. But the main question for male creators remains: “Why have women been able to develop and develop the world around them for so many years, and men do not?” or does this not fit into your plot?
The ideal world would not be what a male director describes, but much, much worse for men than they imagine, because there are always advantages for them, there is a red carpet to the pedestal. The project could only exist on one condition if women were involved.
For a long time I postponed both watching this work and writing a review about it. It turned out that it was not in vain: it was necessary to postpone the viewing for never.
I want to start with the fact that the series in all mass media is presented as the “first matriarchal” ... with a film crew of only men. And honestly, it's noticeable.
In the future, most men have died from the virus, and women have built a new ecological and environmentally friendly society. Sounds like heaven, doesn't it? But all this society in the series, of course, is shown through male gaze.
Yes, the girls gave up the bras they hated, but the women's breasts and bodies in the show are still sexualized. Yes, girls have built a society with love and understanding for each other, but are willing to betray their girlfriend for the sake of public recognition and social respect. Yes, the girls stopped decorating themselves for men, but at the same time everyone looks identical: natural hair at least on the shoulders, light clothes and natural makeup ... ah, and shaved legs ... don’t think that evil feminists (like me) are trying to ban all beauty procedures, on the contrary, every woman should be free to decide this both in reality and in this cinematic “fem” world. But here all the girls are conventionally beautiful, as if all the individuality of a woman disappears with men.
See what the problem is? The whole life of women is built exclusively on male opinion and taste.
In an ideal society, there is still the reproductive pressure on women that feminism is fighting right now, as it was 100 years ago. As if the series imposes on us that motherhood is an obligatory part of life both in the matriarchy and in the patriarchy.
At the same time, this world can not be called a matrierhat: women are also pawed, persuaded to have sex for helping in any business, called “their own” and claim the rights to another person (I am talking now about the hero who grew up in this ideal city, not in wildness), and victimisation is flourishing (the heroine is punished by other women for what they did to her against her will).
“Women are infantile, bitchy, but sexy” is what the authors are trying to say.
What about the men? The situation is no better with them. They are savages, alcoholics, rapists and bandits. Even the main character, who urinates on the street and stares at women, should seem to us like a sweet angel, because he does not try to rape the heroine, unlike other men... but then, after 5 minutes, when she, having been drunk for the first time, is still interested in “this is your thing”, he agrees to sleep with her.
There are certain logical problems with this male world. I'll only mention the most obvious ones:
1. If a part of society is not completely cut off from civilization, then its development as a whole cannot be so degraded. Here someone can recall the aboriginal tribes that still exist, but they have a different culture, language and most often exist on an island that is completely cut off from civilization, plus they have not passed the stages of development of society beyond the traditional, respectively, there can be no development of this society. What about North Korea, you ask? But we need to understand what a totalitarian state with a cult of personality and which controls its citizens from a to Z, not allowing the development of freedom and technology (because in the modern world the development of technology provokes the development of freedoms). So it just doesn't make sense.
2. If they know about the existence of this city, about all the resources there, why don't they attack? Only at the end they decide to take this step, and even then, quite for a crumpled reason.
3. It is illogical that there are idiots living there. As a feminist, I responsibly tell you that by dividing society into men and women, you will meet approximately equal numbers of talented people of science and art.
Just because we existed (and still exist) in a patriarchal world, we know more men of scientists, writers, artists, etc. than women, because many talented women we do not know, because they did not have the right to publish in any activity literally a hundred years ago, they did not receive proper education, and many scientific discoveries for a long time were taken away from them or they had to give them to male colleagues just to see the light.
Bottom line:
Cons:
You don't have any feelings for heroes.
Everything is sexist.
Both worlds are written at the level of tint-sh humor of the 2000s. Instead of this unfunny and poorly spelled undersatire, it was possible to build humor and history much more interesting and funny, no longer attached to stereotypes.
To be honest, even the acting didn’t please me.
- plot
Pros (small):
We are slightly exposed to the leader of the “primates”, where he tells about the family and that in fact, he was abused by the mother of the city to achieve the best for his brothers. It reveals at least a little of his personality.
+work of the art shop and cameraman. The picture is good, plus the entourage looks beautiful.
2 out of 10
(Because it really could have been done, and from the way it was presented to us, I just don’t understand how to put it higher.)
Very unexpected for the Russian cinema (series).
The first thing I remember was the 1983 Polish film The New Amazons. There are also grandmothers who still remember what men are, also smuggling. Everything changes with the new.
The second is the rating system of China (ball system), to which we are also striving in principle, because we have already 13.5 million surveillance cameras (we are in third place in the world, first China – 200 million).
It is nice to meet already familiar artists: Kisegach from Interns, Tolyana from Zhukov, a loser from Senya-Fedi’s special services, a security guard and Aybek from the Hotel, it is a pity that Luba from Interns is missing, she would build everyone there (and we would go crazy). Greta didn't know who he was because the obelisk didn't say anything. Only with the words “plastic and so there is little left” I understood who I was talking about.
Overall, the impressions are very, very positive. Well done, well done.
I think the series will find its viewer, and the point here is not in the matriarchy - but in preserving our values, preserving knowledge (not everyone could fix the computer).
Remember – we can do everything together, if we pull the blanket on each of us (Krylov, fable), then we will not fly into space like Star Trek for a long time.
I watched the first season of the series. According to personal observations, unfortunately, quite a large percentage of the audience “clung” to feminism and matriarchy, which is supposedly ridiculed in this series. It is sad that the satire on typical behavior of the ruling elite has not received enough attention. But this is a very important moment that makes you stop and once again remember how everything is really happening in the world.
The series reflects this principle very clearly – certain beliefs, newfangled tendencies and “norms” are adhered to only by ordinary people, breaking spears every day, defending their “ideals”, while at the same time the ruling class is engaged in solving other personal “problems”. In any case, ideologically, the series coped with its task. In my opinion, in place of the idea of “matriarchy” in the series could be absolutely anything, any “disease” of any other era. But you need to see what will remain unchanged - and this is shown in the series.
Now for the material. The plot is written on 4, watchable, but sometimes drawn out and boring. And this is with such and such timing of the series! The effects were mediocre, but I was not personally annoyed.
Characters are spelled out well, sometimes you even empathize with them, they develop, and some actions cause emotions. Hera's character was very pleased - superficially it may seem that he is driven by animal instincts, but this is not the case. He certainly remains a living man with his weaknesses, but not rarely his words contain simple but very important things that, in my opinion, should be noticed and heard by every girl who wants to distinguish a decent man from an unworthy one.
As for humor, among the stupid jokes below the belt there are very original turns. The cast is not bad in terms of types, but the game is not always convincing - it is very difficult to say anything about Rada - it just is and does something. Very bright Vera Hopeful - you really hate the character. All of the male characters were very successful.
