Great success is created only through hard work. Michael Schumacher in Formula 1 for Germany is like Immanuel Kant in philosophy or Oliver Kann in football. These people are known not only in Germany, but also abroad.
Michael Schumacher is a person who belongs to the category of people who were called self-made man in the XIX century, that is, a person who made himself. And the basis of this “doing” is not idle talk about the success of other people, but above all, their own long and hard work. And this is confirmed by his father, relatives, friends of Michael, members of his teams, in short, people from his entourage.
Any person, if he wants to achieve some heights in life in some sphere, be it sports or science, only talent in combination with hard work can lead to positive changes and results. Schumacher, coming first to the rather average Benetton team, completely adjusted it to his own advantage. As a result, the team became world champion for the first time in its history in 1994 and 1995.
There is nothing to say about Ferrari. For twenty years, this famous Italian stable (from 1979 to 2000) could not reach the championship title. Neither Mansell, nor Prost, nor Berger, nor Alesi succeeded. These are all good drivers, but none of them have ever been champions for Ferrari.
Schumacher, coming to this team in 1996, worked hard on the car, its settings, adjustments, etc. almost overnight in the paddock. He always left the boxes last, and returned from the tests at almost 10 p.m.
It was only after five years of hard work, patience and endurance that the victory finally came to him in 2000. Even a broken leg as a result of the accident at the Silverstone circuit in 1999 did not prevent this.
And having become a once champion, Michael also continued to work hard, winning five more titles for Ferrari.
A very deep impression makes in the film Corina Schumacher, the wife of Michael. It is not for nothing that they say that behind every great successful man is a loving woman who supports him. Corina was with Michael everywhere - at home, at races, and during illnesses. And with tears in her eyes, she was happy for her husband when he won the title for Ferrari. She never left him in a difficult moment. And now he does not leave when such a grief happened. But that's what love is about.
It was nice to see interviews with other drivers who raced with Michael on the track. Mika Hakkinen is a worthy opponent, with whom Schumacher clarified all relations only on the track.
Of course, this film shows Schumacher not only as a rider, but also as a man who is modest, cherishes his family more than anything else in the world. No wonder, announcing his departure in 2006, he said words of gratitude, first of all, to his family and friends.
Not at all in Schumacher’s career and without luck. Of course, had it not been for the lucky occasion when Jordanian Bertrand Gachaud went to jail for spraying gas on a Belgian taxi driver on the eve of the race, Schumacher would not have been able to make his F1 debut at Belgium's legendary GP circuit in Spa 1991, which became his favourite. Here he won his first career victory. But happy occasions should also be in the life of a successful person.
The movie is worth watching.
I especially recommend it to those who study many foreign languages, as interviews in English, German and other languages are heard in the film. Formula 1 is a global sport that has brought together people of different nationalities for the sake of auto racing.
