Agents on & nbsp;pontache By genre, the series “Night Agent” is a political detective and action movie. It contains all the attributes of the genre – chases, fights, shooting, heroism and betrayal, the struggle for power of major figures of the US political establishment, including the president, vice president, chief of staff of the White House, FBI chiefs, etc. However, the central role in all this catavasia belongs not to them, but, as it often happens, a young and pretty couple who accidentally got into a risky cycle of events. Of course, the price of life of ordinary people with such a steep mix clearly begins to tend to zero, which should have given the plot a special dramatic sharpness.
The main characters - Peter Sutherland (an FBI agent on the phone) and Rose Larkin (the head of a bankrupt firm) were rather weakly played by young and little-known actors - Gabriel Basso and Lucian Buchanan. Once at the center of the political struggle for power in the country, they, honest but extraordinary Americans, can easily become a toy, and eventually a victim, in the hands of more powerful forces. However, the intrigue is built precisely on the fact that Peter and Rose do not bow down, heroically fight and even from some point take the initiative into their own hands, resolutely taking the side of the legitimate authorities.
I have no complaints about the dynamics of the series. Events do not follow each other with kaleidoscopic speed, but the plot develops quite quickly. That is why the series as a whole looks easy, moments even become interesting. But exactly, just moments. Much spoil the ubiquitous clichés and sometimes the extreme improbability of certain incidents, their outcomes and solutions found. Before us is a clear division into good and evil, white and black, the plot does not suffer from delights. Not particularly happy with the actors. Especially unconvincing is Hong Chau, the actress who played the role of Diana Farr, the head of the presidential administration. There are almost no typical, memorable characters (except killers). The film is based solely on the intrigue of the outcome - who will win?
Therefore, the series for me with some stretch - a typical average, which is quite possible to watch once, and then forget forever. There's nothing to go back to. It's disposable.
