Prolonged drift I am always looking forward to the full-length anime. The new anime with the literal title 'Drifting House, foreshadowing rain' was no exception.
The plot according to the description seemed interesting and set up for a pleasant viewing. However, in the end, everything was ambiguous.
The beginning is quite promising - a house with children suddenly finds itself in the middle of the ocean and swims towards new journeys. Heroes are excited and at the same time they wonder what will happen next.
By the way, the house is not random, but is associated with the memories of two main characters, a girl and a boy: Natsume and Kosuke. The boy’s grandfather once lived in this multi-storey house, and the guys spent many happy years with him. But everything is not forever: the grandfather died, the tenants of this house were settled, and the guys were distant from each other.
Once in a drifting house, the guys again have to immerse themselves in memories, understand themselves, come to the rescue of comrades and understand the value of friendship.
It would seem that the correct and always relevant topics are stated. But the creators tried to cover too much, and the plot at some point fell apart. And chaos began.
In general, it is not even clear for which target audience the picture is made. If the first half is very childish, then the second half is with obvious notes of sadness and depression. There's action too. And it would even be useful if the same moves and scenes were not repeated many times.
The characters weren't particularly impressed either. The characters of Natsume and Kosuke are somehow less spelled out, but the other guys were not disclosed and their relationship is not very clear. By the end, the authors of the anime somehow try to correct this, but make even more confusion.
The message of anime is that children are the custodians of memories. They remember both pleasant and unpleasant moments of life and want to keep in touch with what is dear to them. The message is good, but the implementation, in my opinion, failed.
The result was a very mediocre anime. Beautifully drawn, with an interesting idea, but without a coherent plot, besides, it is still too long and repetitive.
Just for drawing and a couple of good scenes.
