Italian drama series "Hearts" / Cuori, 2021 - until the first season, 16 episodes, was released, directed by Riccardo Donna. The action in the series takes place in the 60s, the main characters are cardiac surgeons Cesare Corvara (Daniele Pecci) and Alberto Ferraris (Matteo Martari), as well as cardiologist Delia Brunello (Pilar Fogliatti), who are connected by a difficult relationship. Cesare had almost replaced Alberto's father, who had died in an accident, because he considered him his best teacher and mentor and considered it his duty to take care of his son, he also greatly appreciated Alberto as an excellent heart surgeon and took him to his department. Delia and Alberto once had a love affair, which Alberto suddenly ended, refusing to go with Delia to Houston for an internship, which then greatly offended her, the reasons he did not give her. And then suddenly Delia returns to Italy, before marrying Cesare, whom she met in the same Houston. And so it turns out that neither of them ever told Cesare about their relationship. Delia begins to work in the same department that Cesare runs, which is not easy for her at first - people at the time can not believe that a woman can be a good doctor, and the manner of her behavior does not fit into the way women behave there. Cesare has been preparing to start a heart transplant for years, hoping to become a pioneer in the field. It is not that in his department everyone supports him, his most vile enemy is the chief surgeon Enrico Mosca (Andrea Herpelli), who has long dreamed of taking the post of head of the department. He is an extremely scumbag type and his wife in every possible way encourages him to all sorts of pathetic actions, although he sometimes seems to feel some human feelings, but again kind of half. Protectionism flourishes there, and decisions must be pushed through the council not always in fair ways. Cesare also has his own hand on the council - his mistress, who is also the wife of the chairman of the council, with whom he is trying to end the relationship after marrying Delia, but their relationship is not easy. Not only is it difficult in his personal life, we also see difficulties in other characters and observe the unethical behavior of some characters. In addition, it turns out that Cesare himself is very ill, he has serious heart problems, which he carefully hides, but, as they say, there is nothing secret that would not become clear, this concerns both his health and all the other secrets around which the story revolves. He does not have time to become the first to have a heart transplant, he will be preceded by a surgeon from South Africa, but that operation will end in failure. The end is open, so to find out how it ends, you need to wait for the second season. The series for its segment is quite good, just in time to watch during the illness. The actors are also good, well suited for their roles.
