Cover. Again, the cover of the film influenced my decision to see the film, and it also made me think that it was some kind of analogue, albeit very remote, of the book/movie 50 Shades of Grey. Well, yes, to eroticism and especially to 50 shades of gray, this film has not the slightest relation.
However, in appearance, the film resembles modern erotic films - Newage Erotica. In fact, this is an ordinary thriller, albeit with an erotic aura. There are no erotic scenes in the film, and we will not even see the naked breasts of the main character. However, as Brodsky wrote, “And a woman, when already naked, is not so mysterious.” In other words, there are times when a dressed woman gives a film more erotic than a naked woman. That's the feeling that this film, the team that made this film, created. You look at the main character and understand that objectively, her appearance is quite ordinary, but the work of the film crew, the choice of clothes and in general, a sports figure turns an ordinary middle-aged woman into a rather sexy frau. In general, I would highlight the work of the entire team involved in the shooting of this film. This is the case where it is particularly noticeable. I think the reason for this is not only that there are no nude scenes in the film, but also a rather weak plot. So you have to pay attention to the smaller details or, the background of the whole film.
Speaking of storytelling. Before us is a typical thriller, where the main character is pursued by a not quite adequate man. Throughout the film, they play, in fact, cat mouse. There are no particularly interesting and unexpected turns in the film, so it is not entirely clear why all this was started. Well, I thought it was an erotic thriller and the beginning of the movie and even the middle, as it would promise. But it's almost over, and there's no eroticism. That is, there were relevant scenes, such as a scene in the shower, but it is so “decent” that this film can be shown to children without hesitation.
You might wonder, why am I so attached to eroticism? Well, first of all, I watch movies with erotic elements (including pornographic films). But that's not the point. The main thing is that there is nothing else in this film. There is a very weak plot, a completely ordinary (for Hollywood) play of actors and in general, a passing film. Such films can be produced by thousands. The reason why the main character is being pursued is so funny that even the reason for it can not be called. And the attacks on her, except for the very first one, are so boring and lousy that it's amazing that this film was shot in Hollywood. In short, there is nothing worthwhile in the film, everything is below average. Why is the rating positive?
Indeed, on the famous site imdb, the rating of the film is quite low – 4.8. For the film, that's a pretty low score. I gave the film a positive review, and here’s why. As I wrote above, there are no erotic scenes in this film, but the film is simply full of erotic, erotic couples. The main actress, even dressed, exudes eroticism. There are also more revealing clothes in the film. So I gave a positive assessment precisely due to the skillfully created erotic mood of the film, especially considering that there are no erotic scenes here. It doesn’t happen often, so I appreciated the movie. And the plot, although simple, but quite funny. Not a fountain, but not a quiet terror. I don’t regret watching this movie. Is it worth watching? Not more than yes. This is especially true for those viewers who are not used to watching average lousy movies (I’m not talking about this movie, if anything). For me, there is such an option as “so bad, even good”. So I'm not chasing masterpieces. But you have to rest from them too.
