Second chance. “Elevating the level alone” is a long-awaited adaptation of the original manhva, the number of fans of which has long exceeded a couple of million people. And the more fearful I had to wait for the release of each new series. The cost of error would be very high. Now we can safely say that season 1 turned out great.
All over the Earth opened a special gate with monsters, and a select few received special powers, now they protect the planet from invasion. They became known as hunters. However, they all have different abilities, and their strength is also very different. So, someone can defeat Cerberus alone, someone can only cope with an average opponent, and for someone, an ordinary goblin becomes a serious test.
Son Jin-Woo is the weakest hunter of the Earth, who has no chance against more or less powerful monsters. It is almost impossible to gain additional powers in this world, only a few people go through the second awakening. And only Son Jin receives the patronage of the system, with the help of which he is now quickly gaining levels and gaining new abilities.
But it doesn't come easy to him. Almost every victory over an increasingly powerful opponent is well deserved. The main character actively and wisely uses the newly acquired abilities, and even so sometimes he barely manages to survive.
The claims of some reviewers that the protagonist does not doubt his decisions are not quite clear. The authors paid special attention to this in the final episodes of the season, when Son Jin literally almost dies because of his regrets. And the fights, again, are far from mindless: the hero uses the environment, objects and any opportunities.
At the moment, ‘Lifting Alone’ is the undisputed leader of the winter season. This is an anime that every shōnen lover should watch. We can only hope for a speedy continuation. In fact, with the finale of the first season in Solo Leveling, the real battles begin.
