I wanted something light and unstressed that I could just watch without deep thought. She chose Murder Vacation, a Russian comedy series with a detective element. A couple of spouses go on vacation, in which they face quite serious problems. Sounds interesting, you can watch. I’ve already watched 4 episodes and shared my impressions.
Scene and atmosphere
The plot is quite classic for a comedy - the couple are tired of each other and want to divorce. But circumstances force them to go on vacation together. Immediately from the first minutes we see the mutual nagging of the spouses and it seems, well... well, what is there to save? It's not a relationship anymore. Vacation is unlikely to be fun ... instead of a quiet rest begins a detective story.
Little by little it becomes clear who occupies what position in the relationship. We see that Luba wants male attention, flirtation, wants to feel welcome. The novel wants a simple human “rest”, but he, by the way, is not so tuned for quarrels. I even think that he would be the first to go to the truce, but here ... here the plot did somersaults and we have to look not for a place for a date and reconciliation, but where to hide, say, the consequences of his wife’s vacation.
An atmosphere of uncertainty and light tension, no negativity, no serious experiences. Just like I wanted. There's a lot of humor. He is in the series unobtrusive and natural. Jokes are organically woven into the plot and cause laughter situations, phrases or facial expressions of the characters. I especially love when humor is so subtle and seems to hover in the air, it is not in the form of flat jokes, but in the atmosphere, it catches and makes you smile.
Characters and actors
The novel (Alexander Robak) is a very vital character. He is tired of his wife, but does not want to quarrel, and wants a simple human rest. Lyuba (Anna Mikhalkova) is a typical Russian woman who wants to feel welcome and in love again, which she manages, however, with an unusual ending.
The daughter plays Lyubov Aksyonov. She is only shown on her smartphone when she calls her parents. We also see a new friend of Roman - Victor (Stepan Devonin), initially a harmless lover to kill, but he begins to seem suspicious. It even seems to me that this tension is created due to him, it is not clear what to expect from him.
The actors perfectly coped with the roles, do not overplay, look organic, while the dialogue is good, not empty.
In summary: events develop slowly, but the dynamics persist, which does not let you get bored. I recommend watching as an easy and pleasant series that does not require deep thought.
I watch Russian TV series infrequently, but this project was pleasantly surprised from the very first series and delayed. The idea of saving a marriage on holiday, and with such criminal twists and turns, is impressive. It's like working on a relationship with a twist.
The plot revolves around a married couple who barely tolerate each other, but go to Turkey on a ticket presented by their pregnant daughter Natasha. Luba and Roma (the main characters) did not want to upset their daughter, so they went. At first it seems that everything goes according to the usual scenario: a typical Russian family on vacation, quarrels and nagging. But the sudden twist of the plot makes the story much more interesting. I’m really looking forward to it all.
The cast of the series is beautiful, do not add, do not reduce. Especially the game of Anna Mikhalkova and Alexander Robak. They are good and alone, but in duet - especially. It feels like they don’t have to learn the script, like there’s no separation between the actor and the character. The attitude to them, by the way, changes throughout the series: they are annoying because of the endless faults, then suddenly you begin to laugh and understand them, and then you completely empathize and hope that everything will work out for them.
Luba and Roma choke on family life and try to spend time apart, but unite when a pregnant daughter calls. In those moments, they become a real team. By the way, in the place of the spouses, I would already throw the phone into the sea, since my daughter calls almost every hour. Without these calls, both would have been perfectly rested!
The daughter, played by Lyubov Aksyonov, is visible only through the smartphone screen. Perfectly copes with his role and Stepan Devonin, whose persona to us, it seems, will open from the unexpected side.
The series is permeated with a summer mood: bright colors, beautiful landscapes and interiors. I want to be at the resort next to the heroes (not quite close, so, in the same hotel). A lot of humor, kind and witty jokes. I recommend it for those who like light and relaxing comedies.
“Homicide Vacation” is a series in which several genres are mixed at once. At least that was the impression after watching the first three episodes. Love and Roman – husband and wife with an impressive experience of family life (30 years) come to rest in Turkey. They would be more willing to take a break from each other.
The end of the flight was quite symbolic – we immediately showed the desire of the heroes to divorce! Next, we observe how the spouses try to relax separately, but not far from each other, because they must talk on video with a pregnant daughter and portray a happy family so that she does not get nervous.
On the one hand, the plot is simple. On the other hand, you see it because it has a lot of emotions. There will be a happy ending, but what happens now? Are they fighting again? Will they tolerate each other? What about the daughter, will she guess?
In fact, the situation in the family, I think, is familiar to many. The novel is passive, it does not need anything and is not interested in anything (well, almost). Anyone his behavior irritates - it is seen in every posture, in the expression of the face. (Incidentally, the facial expressions of both characters sometimes speak brighter than words.) At the same time, Luba is trying to feel like a woman, to remember what it is like when men look with admiration.
My opinion is that spouses deserve each other. No one is perfect, but in their imperfection they complement each other. Actors play this dislike believably, so sometimes you can feel even a participant in events.
The topics in the series are not new, but how the plot develops, attracts attention and makes you look to the end. I think it's quite on
I watched two episodes of the comedy series Killing Holiday. A few words about first impressions.
Mikhalkova and Roebak are already an established tandem, within which the actors do not even need to play anything. I do not exclude that the script was originally written for them. From an actor’s point of view, everything is fine. It is especially worth noting the vivid live dialogues of the heroes who are always arguing, swearing and unnerving each other. At the same time, you can see with the naked eye that there is a very strong connection between them, so no matter how they argue, the heroes cannot live without each other. What can I say about love?
And everything would be fine, only the events of the plot turned out to be frankly boring, but thanks to dialogue, the situation is not so deplorable. Although I perfectly understand the complexity of entering into history, where it is important to show the hopeless darkness of lifeless relationships between the characters who desperately need an emotional shake-up, which, in fact, happens in the finale of the second series.
The only thing that frankly annoyed me personally was the constant video calls of the daughter of the heroes, who literally every hour got in touch with her stupid questions. To me, for the first series it was a clear overkill. But in any case, the story promises to be fascinating and fervent, where, as always, Love will win. The first series can be viewed on the Kion platform.
The rating of expectations was high - starring Anna Mikhalkova, Lyubov Aksyonova, Alexander Roebak. And the trailer was quite intriguing. But I didn't look at the manufacturers and the customer.
In this case, I would hardly watch the series in the form of a commercial from MTS - advertising the Turkish resort of Fethiye. And MTS Travel.
Director Sergey Dyachkovsky also took little memorable.
The series begins very slowly, the action unfolds lullingly painful. Uninteresting dialogues, unexpressive episodes. When a bad director (or script), the action is on the principle of demonstration: here she is dancing in the club. He drinks all the time. And just drinking, 10-15 times repeated picture of the bottle to the mouth. There are no funny stories in the hotel (although you can think of a lot with a drunk), no funny dialogue, no through lines.
At the very beginning of the plane, the couple just flew to Turkey for a very long time. Then they come to the hotel and the hotelier shows them the territory for a long time. Their daughter, played by Aksenova, constantly calls and asks, well, how are the hotel?
Spouses are very primitive constantly arguing. Then his wife Mikhalkova meets a young macho from Istanbul. Then comes the first round... It's a common problem.
Spouses join forces to solve it. And we ... are constantly shown the beauty of the resort mixed with crime.
In general, very unpretentious advertising of the resort under the guise of an interesting series.
I watched and thought how Mikhalkova and Robak agreed to this. The DB fee is huge.
