Money or Creativity? So, if we are talking about the film “Technoromantics” by Vlad Kurakin, then it should be understood that this is a spin-off of another film by the director, namely “Heroes of Soviet New Wave”. However, the storylines of these works live in parallel and it is not necessary to watch them in the right sequence. Also in this universe is the recently released documentary “Bet on Zero: The Story of the Coffee Group”. And surely there will be shot more pictures about the heroes of the new wave of the 80s.
In this work we will talk about the first techno-pop group in the USSR "Bioconstructor". From which, later grew two other musical projects – the cult pop group “Technology” and the underground formation “Bio”. It is the ideological confrontation of these two groups and dedicated to the film.
The group “Bioconstructor” tried to compose tracks about how modern technology begins to affect human life. And as a creative work of a romantic artist, he seeks to discover the unknown and express his feelings through these innovations.
The film "Technoromantics" shows the clash of two worlds, two cultures, two different principles of existence. What is more important than all-Russian fame or loyalty to your ideals? Consistent desire to stay in the underground or simplification of their creativity, to gain fame with the mass listener? The choice is not so obvious.
The main success of the film is that the director does not try to answer this question directly, but puts before the viewer a choice, based on the example of musicians who have been building their careers with varying degrees of success for more than 40 years. This is a very good book, in my opinion.
Who better to be, a member of a popular team, from which the population expects the performance of only two already disgraced tracks? Or to the unknown masses, a musician who can not gather more than 100 people at a concert, but has complete creative freedom in his actions?
The choice is yours.
