Suspense, passion and loyalty The fresh thriller directed by Nur Vazzi came out as an excellent genre film, released on Netflix. Quite within the framework of such paintings: twisted, rhythmic, with a good denouement.
I don’t even know how to review this movie. I chose it for viewing only because of Famke Janssen, in order to get acquainted with the quality of the work in which she participates. As a result, yes, I liked this work both for the plot and for the acting work in the frame. Good scenario: the good decision was to start with a flash forward, and then roll back for a while to show the exposition scenes. Suspence feels interest in place. The picture raises a number of questions about marriage and cohabitation in particular. Here is the notorious oath “in sickness and health”, and the interaction of the daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law, and the appearance of morality regarding affairs on the side, as well as a conversation about the eternal: what do women want?
The hypocrites on the screen are perfectly adapted to their roles. Rose Williams is God's dandelion, sealed, fragile, miserable. Finn Cole is a character-function that gives a start to the plot, but overall has little impact on the narrative. Famke Janssen is the totalitarian and wayward mother of Cole's character, who engenders the story's main conflict. Alex Hassell is the apple of contention, the opposite of everything else. Operator work and installation are normal. Sound design and post-production are quality, as always with Netflix.
Locked is missing stars from the sky. It’s a typical streaming service thriller that’s watched, enjoyed and moved on. But that doesn’t make movies bad. Quite within the genre. Exciting and interesting. Enjoy your visit.
