I like to watch thrillers. But I didn’t think it would be easy to watch. But I loved Karina's movie from the first second to the last.

For the Yakut film, it is very qualitatively shot. I don't think they do that in Hollywood. The whole movie you empathize with the hero. We all know about this event.

I cried the whole film: I cried when my grandfather asked the spirit of the river for the body of his grandson, sobbed when a girl in the swamp called my mother. It was scary and tragic. I imagined myself as a child or one of my children in that position. We sat in a cold movie theater for 90 minutes, managed to freeze, and the child spent 12 days alone, hungry, cold, where there were a lot of dangers. . .

Angry at parents, volunteers - they did not want to look, lost hope.
Nature is especially beautiful. They made it so that nature seems to take care of the child. Not the parents, but nature itself nursed the child and gave back to people.
I think it's a very strong movie. And very well shot. The best thriller I've ever seen.

I liked that the narrative is nonlinear, that there is no voiceover, that the relationships of the characters are shown through dialogue, without saying.
Beautiful footage of nature, directly felt through the screen the culmination of summer and the onset of autumn in the already dark and starry August nights. Because of the teaser expected more shots from the height and frames with the “view of God”, but mostly the film was shot in an average straight frame.
The film has a good dynamics with a time of 1.5 hours, so it looks in one breath.

I liked how the difficult situation in the family of Karina, without embellishment and pink glasses, after all, in a loving and healthy family, children simply do not disappear, and if they disappear, they sound the alarm immediately.
They were very successful in picking up the girl for the role of Karina. Incredibly lively, natural and mischievous, I completely believed in the character of the little heroine.
And of course, Naida's puppy won my heart. Most of all, I liked the storyline with a child and a puppy, struck by the footage with their natural interaction. I don’t even know how it turned out and how many takes it was.

Even though I knew the real ending and the film adheres to the truthful narrative, there were a few suspense moments where my heart really kicked with nervous anxiety for the little girl.
I liked the play of the actors of the older generation, especially cool Pyotr Basnaev, who played the great-grandfather of the missing Karina, his anxiety is best conveyed to the screen.
It shows the monotonous, exhausting work of the rescue team. How rescuers with the help of volunteers were able to organize a large-scale search - it was impressive.
In addition to the main plot on the search for the missing child, subtly showed the acute situation with fires in Yakutia.
The police line of inquiry has little timekeeping, but this part is shown interestingly, with elements of comedy.

It turned out such an interesting integrated approach to a seemingly one-sided history.

Review of the film "Carina"

“The girl who survived!”
The film tells about the survival of the girl Karina in the wild taiga for 12 days with a dog named Naida. She faced a real test of fear, cold, hunger and the struggle for life.
The story of negligence, irresponsibility on the part of relatives and heroic rescuers with volunteers.

The film shows all the key moments of that incredible story in the pages of the Olekminsky ulus, and what about the whole Republic. Anyway, the review is not about that event, but about the film. The story of the so-called very simple and banal, but to pull to the dramatic film could not, alas.
The cast is surprisingly good, everything in its place. The girl who played Karina looks quite convincing, and I am even surprised that a small child could play so well, it is definitely a big plus of this picture. But there are drawbacks to the acting of other adults. The chief of police (it seems, and did not understand who it is) too overplays during interrogation, which already becomes awkward, the rescuer does not give enough drama, Karina’s relatives look as if they do not understand where they are... There weren't enough dramatic moments. Just find her and this abruptly cut off the film titled "Carina".
The shooting quality is very cool, in general, there is nothing to find fault with, everything looks just gorgeous. This refers to sound, picture, editing, staging, artistic approach, clothing, detailing, etc. The only downside to the script. Very much delayed the film with chatter and wandering rescuers, thus probably wanted to show the length of the search, but showed nothing from the word... although the film lasts only 1 hour 30 minutes and at this time manages to annoy. I should have shown Karin more, more of her adventure.
The excitement caused by this film does not live up to expectations. Heipanuli at the event, not the movie itself. The film itself does not elicit anything and no emotion... the only thing it can elicit is the thought “when will this film end?”
