Hunter's blood -- that's what my current subject is called -- is part of the Aventures dans le Grand Nord cycle. And do not be surprised that the title of the series, which tells about courageous people living in the cold and inhospitable north, is written in French, because it was shot by the well-known company Gamon together with Canadians, as stated on the page of the series itself. Well, come on, this is not the point, because for the entire cycle of your obedient author would hardly be enough, so we will limit ourselves to this film, staged, as almost the entire cycle, according to the works of James Oliver Kerwood. Yes, it is quite strange that the cycle as a whole is known in our country much more than its individual part, but everything happens in this world, right?
What can a person do to achieve their goals? Murder? Yeah, quite. After all, just one shot to end all the problems at once. Especially if you’ve been surrounded by hate all your life. No one wanted you, you were constantly haunted by the shadow of your half-brother, whom you had never seen, but whom you were constantly set as an example. You didn't know if he was really as good as you're told, you wanted to be a better person to be appreciated, but all your attempts ran into a wall of hate. Your brother gradually took everything from you - your father's love, your inheritance - absolutely everything. You were driven to despair, and you decided to take the last step, after which with a shield or a shield. But maybe this time, for the first time in your life, you will finally be lucky and you still learn what it is - to be happy?
Slowly developing action of the film, in the plot reminiscent of a detective thriller, in which gradually, piece by piece, a puzzle of events is assembled. The viewer sees the overall picture, episodes of numerous flashbacks flash before his eyes, but it is not immediately possible to put everything together. Who is the murderer who kills people as simply and cynically as a hunter kills a beast for its skin and flesh? No, an attentive viewer - well, or who knows all the features of the actors involved - immediately recognizes him and can only wait for his name to sound out loud. Less attentive — or less aware that in this case the same thing — gets all the information gradually, the benefit of the creators tried very hard to come up with a truly exciting story. No, here you will not wait for cheerful shootouts or chasing a villain - the approach was completely different, but is it necessary to arouse interest with worn-out stamps, if you can go another way, skillfully filing pieces of the puzzle and correctly registering characters?
There are only three main characters here - there are still secondary ones, but they do not play such a special role, even Vincent Cassel got the role of a dull conductor, in which you will not turn very much, but even the secondary ones are very well remembered, so scriptwriters and director worked on them, what are the main things to talk about? Quebec Gabriel Arcan in the role of mestizo Jean Thoreau - a loving husband, a respected neighbor, an amazing violinist, cold-blooded, noble - he seemed to combine all the best that can be in a person, but in a quiet pool you know who is, there were his secrets, which he would never prefer not to remember, and about some learns in the course of the story - it would be better never to know. To become him and the beautiful Belgian Alexandra Vandernot as his wife Marie - kind, charming, soft, raised in childhood as a princess, she learned to survive in that harsh land, she learned not only to love, but also to hate, not only to enjoy life, but also to take away from her what is necessary, she is not afraid of blood and death, because she is not just a citizen who came from Montreal - she became a real woman of the North. And the third character, the American Michael Bien, who complements this international cast, is the most enigmatic of all, the chameleon who changes names, the one about whom nothing is initially known at all, but whose past is revealed gradually and you do not know how to treat him - whether to hate him or wish him luck, understand and forgive him or hope that he gets what he deserves, he causes both hostility and compassion - an incredibly multifaceted character. All three are brilliantly played, and their emotions, their actions and memories become the missing pieces of the puzzle without which it is impossible to get the full picture.
There are so many wonderful words, but... Your submissive author has had occasions before when the ending was so shocking that his finger pressed a number lower than the film deserves — and this time it was. No, that shouldn't have happened, why such injustice? Therefore, only
