Disneyland: Season 31, Episode 22 "Double Agent" Disneyland (TV series 1954-1991) - an anthology studio "Walt Disney", covering many different genres. "Double Agent" is a television film that is part of this anthology.
The role of the main character is Michael McKean, who, although he looks odd, is still completely suitable for her. Perhaps not the best work in his filmography, but clearly not the worst. In addition, it is not a special case for an actor to play a leading role. Wrestler Big John Studd was noted in the role of Igor, a growling and not very friendly big guy who will interrupt for a moment to give a reference not to Freddy Kruger, or to Wolverine. Alex Hamilton the actress of inexpensive, but sometimes interesting pictures, as always, plays tenth roles. Which doesn't diminish her merits. Recently (since 2008), Hamilton is also a singer by her mouth. Judith Jones and Susan Walden as the daughter and wife of the main character are also very convincing. Well, Savely Kramarov, for which we decided to watch this movie, does not often appear in the frame (right from the middle), and the role is not one of those that you watch with delight. It plays as usual, but it lacks the bright image we are used to. Although there are already claims to writers, there are no claims to actors at all, everyone looks great.
The plot sometimes refers to certain popular creations, borrowing some elements, and fine. The problem is that the film has its own special atmosphere, not much inferior to the strong middle peasants of those years, but at the same time it catastrophically lacks liveliness, which reduces all the advantages to no. Director Michael Viger, working on American TV series, boasts an impressive list of works (Babylon 5; Star Trek: Voyager; Star Trek: Enterprise; Star Trek: Deep Space 9; Private Detective Magnum. These are just a few of the projects he has been involved in. This film is easily lost against the background of the list of telehits of those years.
The musical theme of the picture is interesting. It could be a pleasant, unnerving accompaniment to the opening screensaver, if it was a series.
As a result, we are not quite a typical TV movie, which you can not call bad, but you can not praise it either. The thing is so rare that you should take it to the collection, but the film is such that you think twice. If you're not picky and love movies of those years, maybe "Double Agent" is your movie. If you want to watch a movie where your favorite (or not so) actor plays, I recommend you to pass by. Even the poster is aliveer than the movie itself and promises a little more than the picture has. Ambiguity remains - the claimed timekeeping of 120 minutes, when the carrier only 90. Maybe there’s another version, but I don’t think it would help much. The movie is for an amateur, which he hopes to find.
