Revolt of youth When I was young, I watched this movie. He hooked me with what the main character told and showed me how to fight with the head. That's why I remember this picture. I thought it was so much more effective to fight in the street that it turned out to be true to some extent.
Years later, I found and revisited this film and realized that I was hooked on something else. There was a riot in that movie! Neither I nor the characters in the film understood what the riot was against. Now I understand that this rebellion was caused by hormonal poisoning of the body, which usually affects young people at a young age, especially in cases where the excess of these hormones can not be thrown out. In fact, the main characters fight against established rules and try to find some truth. But if you look closely, they fight only for the attention of a girl – Theresa, who is in the orbit of their lives. And the rebelliousness of each of them is dictated only by the desire to attract the attention of this girl (also full of hormones), and the apogee of this rebelliousness would be the love of Teresa. What in the end gets the main character (Jaguar), depriving himself of everything that he cherished and sought the last conscious years of his life. I think the movie is really about it.
But in addition to the main line of the narrative, there are several interesting episodes that I drew attention to.
It is worth noting that the film was shot on Mosfilm during the existence of the USSR. The authors of the film tried to convey to the viewer the idea that the action takes place abroad. In South America, but abroad. And that, in my opinion, they succeeded. Button phones, cans of Coca-Cola, imported music – all this created the impression of “Overseas”. And the insert of a dance with a machine in the style of Break Dance, was very organic.
Another thing I really liked about the movie is the lieutenant, who is trying to find justice and is a mentor to the cadets. In the course of the story, his boss, seeing his smile, asks him: “Why are you smiling?” To which the lieutenant replied, “I’m not smiling.” You are mistaken.” But at the end of the film, there’s a moment when he gets some news on the phone, and he hears the question again: “Why are you smiling?” This moment was so subtle!
In general, watching this film today, I enjoyed it.
