Life is like a dance. . . I’ve been waiting a long time to see this movie, and I’m glad I finally got it. The wide viewer of the musical picture "Entry on the stage" is almost unknown, but it is a pity, since it is here that the viewer has the opportunity to fully appreciate the dancing abilities of "Lisa Minnelli" and other performers in this film.
Mavis Turner was a budding dancer on Broadway, but then married and left New York, moving away from the theater environment. Now she works part-time by leading an amateur dance group. Each member of this group has his own life, his own problems, which are clearly shown in the film.
But one day the group has the opportunity to show themselves at a charity event in which all the art groups of the city will take part. The group is rehearsing, they have difficulties and the question arises - will beginners be able to perform with dignity?
The film is an adaptation of the play of 1984, the author of which was made by the American writer and screenwriter Richard Harris (not to be confused with the famous actor). I do not know how much the film corresponds to the play itself, but everything is very interesting, the authors perfectly managed to show the problems of the main character and the whole group.
Now take one position and do not move!
- My husband is good at it!
The acting in the film is very good, whether it’s Liza Minnely, Shelly Winters or other actors whose names I don’t know. I can say that everyone dances perfectly, both in the first number at the concert and in the final episode, where everyone demonstrates a higher level of skill.
For the songs "Mean to Me" and "Stepping Out" performed by Lisa in the film - a separate bravo!
In short, a beautiful musical comedy, with good humor, dancing, and the special mood that was characteristic of the film of the classic period of Hollywood of the 30s, 40s, 50s of the last century. If you like musicals or want to watch a movie with a cozy and warming mood - this film is for you!
