Men's Midlife Crisis, or Never Go to the Dental Before Vacation It's a beautiful movie! Beautiful!
It is especially recommended for those who start to choose gifts for their fortieth birthday. Men would do well to look at preventive training to see what they can actually face. And women (especially non-lonely women) need to watch generally mandatory in order to morally prepare for the crisis of their partner and keep the existing couple in harmony.
It is worth mentioning that the picture is simply pleasant even in visual order. There are a lot of pretty people, rich interiors, expensive cars, a chic resort and, of course, the ocean. A lot of music, which has its own independent role, although it is (thank God!) and not a musical. The minor characters include a philosopher bartender, a black psychoanalyst, a former Marine, and a couple of gay men with obvious difficulties. Two more spy tubes and some marijuana.
The film is more tragicomedy than comedy/melodrama. Comic is present because there could be no other way with Dudley Moore. Everything is very everyday: the key does not always lie under the mat, you burrow into flowers - you get a bee, you live at a cliff - you will surely slide down from it, you interfere with analgesics with alcohol - a new interesting way to tear down your tower. And all this against the background of fear of inevitable old age. Melodrama can be defined as a story of unhappy love with a happy ending. It's not here, it's different.
The emotional part of the male nature of the main character is out of control. Suddenly dreamed of heavenly pretzels. The dream is quite real and even embodied in the daughter of a dentist, someone else's bride. And then there was the opportunity to touch her with your hands. And not just with your hands. Turns out I shouldn't. They say that dreams can come true, and then fear them. There was something in this beautiful girl with thin lips that turned the sensitive nature of the musician away from the feeling of selectness and uniqueness. Youth is too simple, artless, asks no unnecessary questions, knows no boundaries. And borders are necessary in places.
The result: the film “Ten” on the hard ten!
Don’t wear feathers in your hair; nobody likes them, really.
