Two creepy Loves I finally got to Shirley McLane’s unspoken filmography. I love this great actress very much and have seen a lot of things with her, so of course, at least a little, but I can tell the difference between good and bad. This movie refers to the word “bad.” From the very beginning, this role was not for Shirley. The faded makeup of the provincial squirrel, the hard-won dialogue. It seems as if a beautiful young girl was forced to play the “virgin grandmother”, and in fact, the film and about “this” too. The plot, if in one sentence: a teacher in some wilderness of New Zealand is tormented by someone to “give” her love – a school inspector who came to check her non-standard teaching methods or a drunken teacher performed by Lawrence Harvey. His hysterical play made me furious. Decorations are a separate topic altogether. Everything must have been filmed in the pavilion. And yet it's so tasteless. Just a performance on stage with salty scenery. I just had to watch the movie to the end. But it's just wasted time. The film is silent horror. In fact, the rating on imdb says this. The only beautiful thing about this movie is the poster.
