A movie about nothing I didn't like the movie. Father is just a man of his time - too loud, too harsh. Everything has to be according to his rules. The mother is a manipulator who constantly confuses her husband on financial matters. Although, probably in her case, it was the only available way to get something out of her husband, whether it was a new coffee pot, an umbrella or a suit for her eldest son. The whole tragedy played out when she learned that her husband, who is probably already 50 years old, was not baptized. The rest of the film is her lamentations that one should be baptized, and his refusals, because at this age it is shameful.
Everything else that is in the film is some everyday situation about nothing.
A previous commentator reflected that after the war, the film was like a cure. Maybe. And it made me think that my reaction to the film was only based on my time, although throughout the film I wondered what this film could be interesting.
And in my opinion, nothing. In our time, it is outdated and even for the atmosphere of that time it is better to see something else.
I looked at it because it was a good fit for the background. Not distracting, not making you think. Just watching it, paying full attention, I wouldn’t.
