And the butterfly with wings beak-buck-buck... Once an elderly Israeli millionaire Meshulam Riklis came up with the idea that he wanted, as in the cartoon about Masyan, “not some kind of fool, but a superstar t...”, and so he decided to invest considerable funds in his wife, who was 31 years younger than him. He did not care that the 27-year-old (at that time) and cheeky Pia Zadora did not have an ounce of acting talent, but she did not hesitate to undress in front of the camera. Her husband thought that this was enough, and selflessly began to work his way into the high light of cinema. As her grand debut, Ricklis chose the adaptation of James M. Kane’s extremely weak novel (" The Postman Always Rings Twice, Mildred Pierce), Butterfly, which was about a rather strange relationship between a lonely Jess Tyler and his rambling daughter Cady, who decided to suddenly come to visit her father, whom she had never seen. At the same time, the girl behaved like an experienced garrison whore, molesting all males in the district and not even disdaining the seduction of an unshaven father. To say that Zadora does not know how to play is to say nothing, even the word "No" the girl could not pronounce without mannerism and cheap pathetics. In fact, in addition to spreading her legs and running around the screen barefoot and without underwear, Zadora was simply not capable of anything more, so critics and viewers, having finally seen the “child of love”. Zador and her almost 60-year-old husband were horrified.
Very boring, illogical and frankly "soapy" "Butterfly" snatched almost all nominations for the anti-award "Golden Raspberry" (lucky only Stacey Keach, who against the background of all the rest of the lawlessness was really good), winning three awards for worst female role, worst male supporting role and worst new star. But the public was shocked by another fact - for all the obvious acting incompetence Zadora won the Golden Globe as the best breakthrough of the year, beating Kathleen Turner and Elizabeth McGovern. When it turned out that the award dear wife bought Riklis, the scandal was incredible, which resulted in the abolition of this nomination at the Golden Globe. The following year, the tireless Zadora again tried to “brilliant”, this time with a role in “The Lonely Lady”, vainly trying to ridicule Hollywood mores, but then justice finally prevailed, and the new “Golden Raspberry” put an end to her acting career.
