There are movies about big earthquakes, there are movies about big sinking boats, there are movies about big burning buildings. It's 1976, and technology doesn't stand still. Supermodern nuclear bus "Cyclops" goes on its first non-stop flight (New York - Denver, if anything.). Managed by this miracle of the atomic age, two brave drivers with a difficult fate: Dan Torrens, who suffers from accusations of cannibalism ("Should a man eat one miserable skinny leg, as you are immediately called a cannibal!") and Sholders O'Brien, who constantly switches off at the wheel. Without a love line, too, will not do, because on board is the former lover of Dena, part-time – the creator of the miracle bus.
And all would be well, and the Cyclops would safely get to Denver, but the insidious oil tycoon does not want to put up with the competition of nuclear energy, and puts a bomb on the bus.
So our brave trio, despite all the troubles and dangers, will have to save passengers and a magnificent bus from an imminent disaster.
The film The Big Bus was released in the United States in 1976, four years before the iconic Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker trio's "Airplane," but was unsuccessful. This is most surprising, because the film, in my opinion, is not bad. Not a masterpiece of absurdity and parody, like the same "Airplane", but to watch quite interesting and funny. After all, the kit includes recognizable stamps and cinematic images of films-catastrophes of the 70s (here is a divorced couple, and a priest who has lost faith, and a poor fellow who has six months to live), parodied in the film. Yes, and put the "Big Bus" very skillfully, with a sweep.
If you are a fan of good comedy, it is not recommended to pass this tape.
