The boy and his porridge
Baby, be careful!
Some call Clifford “the devil of hell,” others call him a “difficult child,” and I’ll just call him a good guy who can stand up for himself. And skewed from anger, the faces of adults are a consequence of this quality of character in the boy. So, when you see Clifford, the adults around him always have very funny faces. And when I met the boy's ancestors, it made me even happier that Clifford was like that. Yes, maybe lying, mean, sometimes vindictive, but with a sense of humor and very smart. The best option is for such parents: a small father and a mimli-mama. The boy’s uncle felt a bit sorry when Cliffy was sent to stay for a week. Do you know how the world loses rare, beautiful people like Uncle Martin? It's just that when such good people cheat on kids like Clifford, their lives will start to change a lot. And the uncle ran into it and, so to speak, fell into the abyss of torment. In just a week, Martin will question the wedding with a beautiful woman, anger the boss, which will provoke an early dismissal, and mental health will be in question, and why, one wonders, he could not spend two hours on his nephew and did not break with him into the world of dinosaurs? Always like this. Oh, Martin shouldn't have been such a decent man, so maybe that boy wouldn't have been so painful. But there are advantages. You know, it's only after you visit your uncle that Clifford starts to realize what a shithole he was. This truth may be accompanied by the ruined health of his uncle, but I think it was worth it. But to sweeten my very "black" retelling of this bright picture, I will add to it the mention that this first-rate comedy with great comedy actors, and the wedding in the end will be better than any sugar;
No matter what anyone says about this film, it will remain ideal for me among a number of other fainter similar films. None of the actors I know have been able to turn into such a difficult child as the adult Martin Short, a man who never managed to lose the childish spontaneity and sense of humor. Here these qualities are further emphasized by the serious and principled Uncle Martin, played by Charles Grodin, who gave us the once unforgettable owner of Beethoven. An amazing, full-fledged duet of seriousness – childishness was created by these people. Whatever time does to me, but their frequent skirmishes will forever remain in my mind and will endlessly give joy.
I have not recommended this film to anyone I know, and I will hardly ever recommend it. Still, I am greedy for good things, but you, the casual reader of my review, can safely take my advice to see this picture. Maybe not now, but after a while, when you get bored with the endless ends of the world, countless fools, disappointments and shocks, and they sooner or later drink all your juices, look with hope for such a year 2050. A year in which for each of us, future decrepit old people, there will be a place on a simple but damn comfortable bench in the shade of trees and next to a petty mischievous person, to whom we will tell the incredible stories of dreamers who once walked to the last for the sake of their moment of happiness and at the same time the insight that it lies in another.
