Mars is very similar to Earth. More or less significant similarity is observed in almost all parameters – size, climate, relief, geological structure, etc. The presence of water and primitive organisms is also assumed. Frank earth-likeness serves as an occasion for versatile scientific and anti-scientific discussions, works, conferences and other acts in the astronomical field. And it's all for a reason. Yes, some scientists who try to prove that intelligent life existed on Mars in the distant past (or exists now) are quite harmless in their conclusions and actions, and the ideas advanced by these people do not cause much damage to science or society. Much more dangerous are other guys who dream of moving to the nearest celestial bodies after they destroy the Earth’s ecosystem. All this is nonsense, since the dreams that other planets can be made suitable for full life are unrealizable – man can only live on Earth. And instead of doing stupid things, such people should take more care to preserve the natural balance on their home planet.
Fantastic action movie "Mars" says that by 2056 the fourth planet from the Sun will be used by greedy and ubiquitous earthlings. Fuel will be produced (with the energetic name Silex), which has no analogues in natural qualities, efficiency and profitability. Naturally, some of the earthly people in the future will find shelter on Mars. Someone will be born there. The population will mainly consist of antisocial elements – drug addicts, prostitutes, murderers, thieves, rapists, as well as simple mediocres and vagabonds. Therefore, there can be no question of any humanism and order. Anyone who sets foot on the surface of the red planet immediately puts himself in mortal danger. And if we also take into account that in such a horrific environment, the forgotten plague spreads with breakneck speed, then the question naturally arises – why is this all? The answer is simple. For sure, the specialists involved in the extraction of fuel, deliberately created around themselves an anarchist horde and a painful environment, so that unwanted elements could not get too close to the mining company. It is not quite clear what these businessmen are worried about... Whether they are afraid of competition, or stigma in a cannon... Or maybe both.
And now one day on Mars comes the fearless keeper of order (so in the future will call all kinds of servants of the law) Coschen Templer. But it's not just to relax. He wants truth and revenge. His brother was killed. And, fortunately, after the murder, the brain was preserved in a special cryo chamber, which is designed to keep the dead parts of the body in good condition for a long time. The brain cells preserved almost all the thoughts and feelings of the victim. This served as a good help in establishing the truth, and the cool Templer at the end of the film achieved his goal.
When I first watched this tape, I was very surprised by one phrase said by the hero Olvier Grüner at the very beginning of his stay on Mars: “I am least interested in women.” This phrase was uttered by Cochen in response to the tempting offer - to have fun with the Martian muddle. I thought, how is that? A real man shouldn't say such things. But after a while I realized what he meant. And indeed, a man who flew to Mars to investigate the murder of his brother, no time to have fun with the so-called night butterflies. He's not up to it...
Previously, Olvier Grüner shone well on the screens in various film roles, and many loved paintings with his participation. But films with this actor, shot after 2000, have absolutely nothing to do with film art and can only please the notorious erotomaniacs or constant admirers of Gruner, for whom not the film itself is important, but the personality and talent of the favorite artist.
The film takes place, as I said, in 2056. Hmm. Well, let’s see if our society can reach that level by this year. If we live, of course (which is unlikely)...
Not exactly scientific, but still fantastic feature film "Mars" is not the worst variation on the theme of the future of our civilization. In other words, this film project is a classic of the genre of fiction. And this means that not very cult lyceum Olvier Grüner has something to be proud of.
