A father's love is often like the moon. In the daytime, it is not visible, but at night it shines in the... A film that is very emotional. Even though it was taken 18 years ago, I saw it for the first time. I really liked the movie. Fathers like Ravi are still to be found. He has been raising his son alone since infancy, and of course loves him, but has to hide his feelings and emotions in order to be a good coach and help his son become a champion. And of course, it seems to others that the father of the tyrant completely tortured the poor boy. But that's not at all true. Look and see for yourself. And most importantly, when Ravi tells his neighbors the story of his life, what he himself experienced once and why he became so, there are no tears to do. There are not many characters on the screen, Ravi with his son Rohan and a young widow-neighbor Antra with her mother-in-law. But the attitude of the two women is very touching and trembling, as if they were a mother and daughter, and not a mother-in-law-daughter-in-law. I really liked it.
Kiron Kher in the role of mother-in-law is great. Cute, kind, loving his daughter-in-law as a daughter and wishing her all possible happiness. It's just such a dream mother-in-law.
Neha as a daughter-in-law. I don’t know this actress very much, I’ve seen her all in a couple of movies, but she’s a pretty pretty girl. And also femininity, gentleness and tenderness. And all her feelings for Ravi and his son were very natural and sincere. I even cried during her conversation with Ravi as she looked at him, just “eating him with her eyes” and waiting for him to respond. And there was someone, I'll tell you.
Sunil Shetty is simply compelling here. Just so and blows from him strength, reliability, care and passion, which he (or rather Ravi) diligently suppresses in himself. I dissolved again in his eyes and fell mentally into his arms. Sunil very impressively and heartfeltly played the role of a single father who dreams of more for his son, but hides his true love from him and keeps him strict. The boy who plays his son Sunil in the film is also impressive when he finally comes to the realization that his father really loves him very much, and then shows him that his love for his father is no less.
The film emphasizes the fact that, despite the love for the child and the desire to improve his life, parents still need to understand child psychology and form their own approach and behavior in accordance with the situation and try to avoid harming the feelings of the child. The child may not be old enough to understand our intentions, but we must be old enough to understand his feelings. And yet, thanks to the indirect and unspoken love Ravi and Antars for each other, the director gracefully demonstrates the human aspect of life. Saying "I love you" is not required, it is better if the mood is transmitted through gestures, through glances, through light timid touches, at least.
Technically, the movie is good, too. The director captured the real life of the Goa countryside (where the story unfolds) and the fabulous natural beauty prevailing there. And at the same time, the film is not long, even less than 2 hours. But so much soul and feeling is invested in this film that this time, on the contrary, very little, in my opinion. There were even a few songs during that time. The music Ananda Raja Ananda is good. Yeh Kaisa Ehsaah Hai sung by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan for me the best song in the film. However, other songs are also enjoyable to listen to and feel.
"Father's Love" is a simple film, without any fights, fights, chases for money. It's much more sensual, romantic, a little comedy, a little drama. In general, a very soulful and sentimental film, very calm, not for those who like to see more than life characters and situations on the screen. It's for sentimental people like me. I recommend this not deservedly underestimated film to viewers who love emotional family dramas and want to learn something about parenting.
