Private investigation... Among the creatures there are those who decrease by increasing, while others increase by decreasing.
Before us is a classic detective, in a modern European interpretation. The plot initially reminded me of "For the Skin of a Policeman," only in a more dramatic way. In the end, things turned out to be a little different. And although many detectives are similar to each other, this one just stands out for a completely unexpected denouement. Director Guillaume Nicklu, as always skillfully, combined detective, mysticism and drama.
The story of a private detective looking for a missing girl, when this case has long been abandoned by everyone around, is certainly not new. But thanks to the confusing plot and well-recognized actors, it still looks with interest. In the process, much will not be what it seemed at the beginning. And I must say, the main character will be able to unravel this complex tangle of facts, despite all the obstacles encountered in his way.
Thierry Lermitt perfectly played a life-beaten detective, performing it somewhat in the classical key, with an unsettled life and personal life, as well as eternal debts. The film itself is shot in a rather gloomy manner, giving a certain mystery to the narrative. Which is slightly brightened by the eccentric heroine of the talented Marion Cotillard, who appeared here in all its glory in the literal sense of the word.
And in general, the cast got here to glory. Clovis Corniac in the role of the criminal owner of the club, Frederick Diefenthal known for the comedy “Taxi” in the unusual role of a transvestite, Jean-Pierre Darrussen in the role of a voyeur and Samuel Le Bian rocker Vincent. Especially worth noting is the oldest French actor Robert Irsch, almost 80-year-old coped well with the role of a neighbor.
