"Double play" I didn’t want to write for this movie... Then I sat down and thought, who if not me? Fans of Sean Young, as one YouTube user wrote, Legion. But they're either silent or they're not sitting on the Kinopoisk. I have to pout for everyone here, well, what actually - I am a person who at one time commented on "Teenage zombies" and "Fat spy" with Mainsfield, I am not used to, plus it was long ago time to dilute the green of their "reviews" with something like this.
In general, cinema is not cinema. Movie is video. It looks like direct-too-vhs: in cinemas, this is not shown, they play on TV between the eroticism of Tinto Brass and Star Trooper 3. Someone disappointed? I don’t think – after all, people who sit down to watch this – know what they are signing up for, know that this is a low-budget and a “cart with discounted cassettes on the ruin” – why, one wonders, scold the film for what it is not?
In the opening scenes of “Double Game” Sean Young appears in the image of a fam-fatal blonde and you do not immediately recognize her: folded handles, some strange outfit and a whitewashed face. The cameraman catches neon and gangsters in the frame, like hinting at you, the viewer, you're not watching shit, you're watching Noir.
The plot gradually develops: Sean Young washes this dope off his head and turns into a fam-fatal brunette. Stealing money. Oh, "Psycho." It becomes interesting, like a movie quiz "remember where." Oh, the motel and its owner. The postman always calls twice. Oh, manipulative girl. Instinct, Last Seduction, Connection, etc., etc. If you add all this together and multiply the budget-free production - we get the output "Double Game" - hot and stale. But it can be eaten if you cut the mold at the edges, it can even be turned into a stylization under the noir of the 40s, reducing the brightness of the picture to an authentic h / b.
.. .
Sean Young's situation is unfortunate. The actress missed the role in “Pianino” Campion and “Casino” Scorsese, quarreled with the Hollywood elite, became unprofitable and undesirable in the best and most productive acting years. Remained unspent comedy talent Young, the actress persistently imposed the role of “rockow” and cute companions. The actress, who is so ambiguous, ambivalent, ambivalent (which manifests itself in the very name - Sean - double: male and female at the same time), who with the right director could reveal one hundred or even two hundred percent - was sent to act in low-budget - show the ass of the understudy to classical music in ridiculous and rude editing glues.
Sad, comrades. But still... "Double play" is far from the worst of late Young's evils. Plus, the actor who played the role of the owner of the motel was really good. Really.
