The Golden Arrows of Queen Gulmalik Khabib (Khabibullah) Abidovich Fayziyev graduated from the directing faculty of the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute named after A. N. Ostrovsky (the faculty of drama directors) in 1963. Since the same year - director of the film studio "Uzbekfilm", shot 20 documentary and popular science films at the film studio "Uzbek newsreel".
He was the second director on the films of Latif Fayziev: “Star of Ulugbek” (1964), “Sons of the Fatherland” (1968), etc. Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Adventure film story “The Mystery of the Cave of Kaniyat” is his first film in which Khabib Fayziev’s craving for retrospective historical inserts into the Soviet reality of the 70-80s was determined. ("The Journey of the Worthy (1979) and The Reserve Hill (1988)).
The script was written by Igor Lukovsky, who had time to work on many interesting and famous films: Admiral Nakhimov (1946), The Secret of the Eternal Night (1955), They Were Known Only in Face (1966), etc. In The Secret of the Cave of Kaniyat, Lukovsky builds the plot on the alternation of three time layers, which, successively, show a story of insidious betrayal and selfless devotion.
Many centuries ago, Queen Gulmalik and her people fought back the brutal raids of the Mongols led by Kungrad-biy. The metal for the arrowheads ran out, and gold went into remelting, a myriad of which was stored in the cave of Kaniyata. In the 1930s, during excavations in the cave, a geologist Sokolov dies under strange circumstances. A few decades later, the geologist Borodina organizes a new expedition to the cave of Kaniyata. In this expedition are people who have kept their secret for many years.
A light, open, positive film about a happy time. About inquisitive and interested in history teenagers. It is about justice that will surely prevail. About the duplicity of individual “persons” who for a very long time concealed their true essence behind beautiful and correct words.
