A $1,000,000 alien. The late 90s and early 2000s were remembered by many by a huge number of action films from film distribution, films without any deep content, but with charisma and charm, capable of awakening the desire to re-watch even inexperienced audience. Think of Wilson’s Dragon or Michael Dudikoff, whose films never had a high budget, but were in high demand. In "Interceptors" we see one of the planned passing fantastic fighters, which came out extremely successfully. Perhaps even the director of this tape did not expect such a brilliant result.
The plot of the painting is simple. An elite squad of mercenaries, guided only by the principle of “Money does not smell”, takes on a difficult job and eventually finds itself in an even more difficult situation. Reconnaissance of the crash site of an alien ship turns into a real bloody battle, and now the commander of the detachment (Olivier Grüner), who has acquired the help of two scientists, will have to confront a ferocious alien who does not hesitate to take on human form from time to time for the purpose of disguise. And if our heroes cope with their task, then they are waiting for a lot of money and the long-awaited happy ending.
I will not talk much about the process . The action does not begin as promisingly as the film unfolds closer to the middle. But I would say that the start is not as important as the acceleration, and here is the confirmation: brilliant action, more or less high-quality special effects, a good main character, as in principle and side characters. It is very gratifying, by the way, that the director is not in a hurry to merge secondary characters, as is done in a huge number of cases to highlight the central role of the survivor. The end of the film, by the way, also did not limp and even gave a certain note of positive.
Actors , of course, there are unknown, in addition to the top three, Gruener, Durif and Hudson, where the last two snatched not the most voluminous in content and appearance on the screen roles. By the way, I can’t help but mention Glenn Plumer, who is probably the brightest supporting character, well-lit. The rest of the faces are completely unfamiliar to me, but this is not worth focusing on.
In general, the director turned out to be a very strong action movie, which I, not being a fan of Olivier Grüner, watched more than once. Anyone who is suitable for viewing at leisure alien urine with the participation of a cool guy and the Texas atmosphere I strongly recommend.
