A bit of an unhealthy tale. At one time I was very surprised that the cartoon “Three!” There is a sequel, and not even one. Judging by the fact that I am the first to post a review of “Winter’s Tale”, for many it is still a mystery. It so happened that this cartoon I had to watch just now. And whether for this reason or for some other "Winter's Tale" leaves more disappointment than joy.
Despite the same animation and the same actors, the plot becomes less exciting and more strange. The action takes place in winter, and for a long time. That's what the characters say. But we don't actually see that. Due to the lack of night scenes, it feels like a maximum of half a day passes. But that's not the weirdest thing. A little snatched, the bear sees very specific dreams that smell like something hallucinogenic. In no other Soviet animated film, which focuses on a younger audience, I have never encountered such a thing. The bewilderment is also exacerbated by the fact that the entire cartoon is based on the desire of the bear to eat something or someone. The way he talks about his desire makes you think about the mental state of the character.
A sane creature of the "Winter's Tale" is a snowman with a voice George Vicin. If you, like me, watch a cartoon with a critical approach, you will become associated with a bird. It's even funny, because Vicin usually plays and voices some weirdos. Remember at least the famous Coward from the films of Gaidai. There’s a hedgehog from the previous part, and... there’s something wrong with him, too. It seems that both appearance and voice are the same, but doubtful motives are visible in the behavior . There is a moment when the character turns to the audience, and then you notice what you may not have noticed in "Three": the hedgehog has unnaturally round eyes with very large pupils. Well, okay, I don't think the artists did it on purpose, but nevertheless, unlike the first part, "Winter's Tale" will puzzle you a lot. Especially since the finale here is good, but not so inspiring.
It is not always possible to repeat the success of the original. The Winter Fairy Tale failed to do this. It was followed by the third part.
