It should be said that this “working agitation” does not shine in principle, so it is no wonder that at one time it did not appear on the screens (the premiere took place only 9 years later in the 67th and then on the wave of Jean-Paul’s popularity). Of course, she is far from the works of great Italian masters like De Sica, whose Belmondo starred in the future. But the cinema is painfully reminiscent of the good old Soviet films of the 50s: about production, youth, enthusiasm. In which the bright, pure relations of working youth were necessarily alternated with the industrial landscapes. And although this is a French movie, lines immediately come to mind from the notorious "Spring on Zarechnaya Street" - the factory entrance hall that brought me to people. And the hero of Bebel is the same furry guy and hard worker as Sasha Savchenko. He plays guitar, sings and is the soul of any company.
Nevertheless, such famous actors as Michel Piccoli and Paul Franker (we love Gaben’s partner), as well as those who became famous later – Bernard Fresson and Bebel’s classmate at the conservatory Pierre Vernier, lit up here. Fresson, I didn't really notice, but that's not surprising, because both of them played extras. But first of all, the film is interesting for Belmondo's first big role. It was also his first appearance on the poster. It’s fun to watch young Jean-Paul play. A young, fervent young man with mischievous eyes and a stack of unruly hair, at that time more like a squawker than a hero of a militant. Already here his irrepressible emotionality, gestures and swings of the hand during recitation are manifested. In one scene, he even sneers at his "scary appearance," which later drives thousands of women crazy. An interesting detail, in the picture Jean-Paul plays on the guitar a fashionable at the time gangster motif from the cult “Male showdowns”. Did he know then that gangster roles would soon become an integral part of his film career? Is this a sign of fate?
It's a really bright movie! Amateur aviation, dedicated!!
