Pretty good gloomy action movie with great moments The beauty of the film is that it came out at a time when, thanks to David Cronenberg and Paul Verhoeven, and many independent directors, the fashion for dark and hard things still existed.
The idea seems to be simple: a dead prisoner from a lunar colony is taken to Earth for burial, and he turns out to be alive and mutated, and even going to infect many. Only initially psychotic and therefore mostly kills people, and bites only girls, because in a fever urgently looking for some Katie.
This is a film of the time of gloomy forecasts for the future, and the city is shown here as a network of cheap and dirty hangars and workshops, alleyways and unfinished high-rises. Also in the city constantly lasts a certain Economy - something like a very long White Nights, going for six months.
The atmosphere of the scenes with the villain performed by the great Billy Drago is simply excellent. Something akin to the movie “Skinner”, where Ted Raimi played a maniac. The rest is in the spirit of a strong police action movie with Hauer or Rourke, only here it is wrestler Roddy Piper.
