Surprise on the road. Sometimes there is something great in the movies, though not very noticeable. I'm talking about a particular kind of road movie where the protagonist is not the actors, not even the cars, but the feeling of freedom, the Path and the feeling that this very Path can take you where you never expect. Of course, it’s Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, The Disappearing Point (Thanks Tarantino for the advice), and now it’s a slightly less distinct and more unknown diner. In this film there is no such atmosphere and thought as in the dot, but lovers of road Movie it is definitely worth watching. Why?
First of all, this is young Defoe. Yes, he is a master of playing the roles of bad characters, one of the “wild hearts”. Lynch's worth it. But he's a tough guy here, and he's doing as well as a tough villain. The rest of the actors are slightly less known, but well complement the charismatic and sometimes mysterious Defoe. I am proud of my excellent role as always.
Second, the soundtrack. There is not much of him here, but he attracts attention from the very credits to the victorious end. Classic country complements the picture as best as possible, coupled with the same classic retro cars, deserted tracks and other attributes of this road Movie of the 70s and 80s.
Third, the plot. Simple, but unobtrusive. In fact, this is a story about the formation of a person who found himself in an unusual habitat. The main character travels around his homeland, he is shot through the hood, he is perplexed, but he is eager to “revenge”. But whether he succeeds or not, that is intrigue. Nothing original and new, but it was not necessary for easy and pleasant perception of the film. I advise all connoisseurs of road Movie, and the rest, too.
